The micromotor is much smaller - not much bigger than a 2x2 brick. It's
geared down a lot, and it's output turns very slowly. I estimate it at • about
1 turn per second (60 rpm).

...maybe if you connect it to 18 VDC (^;

I think you'll find the rotation is a bit closer to appr. 30 rpm. It's slow,
but it's not terribly slow either. I find it very useful for powering
gripers on end of arm tools for my robot models.

Some people have reported that it easily jams if not used properly.

It most certainly does. I find that a "slipping" pully on the end of the
shaft works well, preventing the motor from stalling and jamming. If I use a
tight pully on the end the motor almost always jams and stops.

What I'd like to know is how they fit the gearing inside of that tiny, tiny
case... Anyone taken one appart? (^:

(...) I took one apart, which was terminally jammed since the day I got it. The gears are extrememly tiny (nylon gears with teeth maybe the thickness of 1-2 human hairs), and are made in such a way that an outer gear surrounds the inner gears (I (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)
