  ONLINE LEGO NXT INTERFACING WORKSHOP

Hi All, I'm in the planning stages for having the first Online LEGO NXT Interfacing Workshop. The hands-on event will be conducted using Skype as participants will be learning the basics of electronics interfacing aided by Hi Technic's Prototype (...)   Re: Asking for RIS 2.0 patch under Windows XP

I ran into this problem 2 weeks ago when trying to deploy a new software image to 2 of my labs at work. The installs in the two build images both worked the first time and then started giving the error mentioned below. So far as I have been able to (...) (16 years ago, 15-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Bluetooth connection drops very often in Bricx

(...) I cannot aid with the Bluetooth issues but I have a strategy that I use to when programming my Lego things that helps me change numbers without the cycle of program, save, download, run. I write the program with, for lack of a better term, (...) (16 years ago, 11-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Bluetooth connection drops very often in Bricx

I'm using BricxCC and whenever I've changed something (even a single number) I've to download my program to my NXT. It's a bit slow. But I can live with that. The worst thing is that the connection drops during or after the download quite often (...) (16 years ago, 11-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT-G print to text?

(...) You can print the program as an HTML file (with images; the environment will auto-generate them), and the environment will even oblige you by printing the hidden tabs of multi-case Switch structures. But there's no "text version" of an NXT-G (...) (16 years ago, 11-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  NXT-G print to text?

In Robolab, one could print to file and read the program methods in text. Is there an equivalent in NXT-G? One of my students has this enormous NXT-G program that is hanging up every workstation we try to debug it in. It has about a dozen loops and (...) (16 years ago, 10-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: Bluetooth quirks

(...) To answer the question, we're using NXT-G. But that was last week's summer camp. This week seems to take 3 pairs of Bluetooth battlebots just fine. (16 years ago, 10-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: question on mindstorm capabilities for competition

(...) Lucky you. :) Sounds like you have everything you need. (...) With 2 light sensors, two possible (there are other) strategies are (1) Try to keep both sensors on the line. When one goes off, turn towards the one still on the line. If both go (...) (16 years ago, 9-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: question on mindstorm capabilities for competition

Hi all, Just wanted to follow up on this! It turns out that Tim (the 10y/o) has a next door neighbor with a complete RCX mindstorm kit with tons of extras from being in a lego robotics club in the past. The neighbor was nice enough to give us all of (...) (16 years ago, 9-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Asking for RIS 2.0 patch under Windows XP

Dear Linmix, Yes, I did sent these message to Lego before I wrote this request, but get nothing yet. Anyway, I have some solution found in google, but not Lego MindStorms solution. Thanks for all your guys. Alan (...) (16 years ago, 8-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: AW: Assembly line feeding system

(...) Thank Rafe Donahue, actually. I learned about it from a math/statistics-based presentation about GBC modules he gave at BrickWorld 2007. If he didn't discover the technique himself, he at least documented it. :) I haven't seen a lot of modules (...) (16 years ago, 8-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Asking for RIS 2.0 patch under Windows XP

I have probably the same problem? Get the error message: A critical error has occurred. You may be running out of memory, or you may need to reinstall Robotics Invention System 2.0 I think a Windows update patch has done the thing, since it used to (...)   Asking for RIS 2.0 patch under Windows XP

Re: question on mindstorm capabilities for competition

(...) Hi George, NXT will do this fine, however you might want to try two light sensors (1 more than in the Retail Kit) Otherwise you might not be able to tell going off line and a break in the line! The NXTG language would be fine for this task and (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: AW: Assembly line feeding system

According to my experiments, there is a little thing to add to your explanations: the narrow ramp level must be sufficiently lower (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

  Bluetooth quirks

I've just re-read Sivan Toledo's "Analysis of the NXT Bluetooth Communication Protocol" tacked on the main lugnet.robotics.nxt main page. I am currently in a PC lab (Portland State Univ NH 439) with 9 bright kids. We have about 24 NXT kits at our (...) (16 years ago, 2-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: AW: Assembly line feeding system

GBC module creators tend to independently reinvent the same hopper solutions used in factories. Some of them shake, many of them have an agitator spinning inside it to loosen the pieces, but the simplest just use gravity and a change of direction. (...)
