brickOS and latest binutils (1 issue now fixed in binutils CVS, and workaround patch to brickOS for the other)

The "invalid symbolsrec file" issue (error from makelx) issue is now fixed in binutils CVS, both on the trunk, and on the 2.13 branch - so the next release of binutils, be it 2.13.2 or 2.14 will have this fixed. The "ld segmentation fault" issue is (...) (23 years ago, 4-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: LNPD problem

Hi Pieter, I'll take a shot at it... It's possible you may be experiencing a transmission problem on the RCX side. That's not to say that your RCX can't transmit IR data correctly... obviously it can since you are able to download BrickOS and that (...) (23 years ago, 4-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  LNPD problem

Hi there, I still don't manage to send any packages from the rcx to the PC. I attached the client and the "receiver program" and here is a fragment of the lnpd log: 148032:Client > connection 1 from host 127.0.0.1, port 33485 148039:Logical > (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Lindows

(...) Yes, it should. It works on my system a debian testing. cheers, Pieter (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Lindows

(...) More specifically, it's based on Debian/GNU Linux. Which in turn, means that the prepackaged brickOS for Debian works. You can download the four packages by chasing links found at: (URL) (Debian maintainer for brickOS) -- Stephen M. Moraco (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Lindows

since it is based on linux, BrickOS should work on it, right? Timothy (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

searching for an Invention Kit for sale.

Hi everyone! I live in Hungary and it's quite hard to find a used invention kit (the new one is too expensive for me). So if someone has a kit for sale or just parts of a kit (I need especially motors, sensors (min. two), one light sensor, infrared (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Dear all, I'm looking for the library for drawing a modified schematic for the HandBoard, but Protel does not have the library for this. Does anybody have? or is there any other chip which could replace the current one?? Thanks Rita (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: RCX Tank Base

<SNIP> (...) I realized a few minutes after making my post that there is LEGO string. It is of suitable size. And, based on creations I've seen from the AFOLs, it's definitely strong enough. - Rob (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: Using TIS and USB Tower on a Macintosh

Hello, According to what I've read, Robolab 1.5 will work with the USB tower on a Mac. This leads me to believe that the Robolab CD comes with USB drivers for the tower. Emulators (as I understand them) work by mapping working resources to an (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Line following algorithms

From: Gary Mullen <garym@the-mullens.net> (...) It's a little of both. (prize & prestige) When you go to a contest sponsored by a robot club, they often give out "real robot" prizes. (stuff WE can't usually use) But at the last line following event (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: RCX Tank Base

(...) > of trying hot-glue if it doesn't melt the LEGO's... There are two kinds of hot-melt glue guns - High temperature and Low temperature. I know that the low temperature kind definitely don't melt Lego and the glue does peel off relatively (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: RCX Tank Base

(...) Depends on who you are, a 100% LEGO solution is better IMHO. Of course glue or cross stitching falls out of the purists world. I once made some heavy duty treads from halvbeams and cross axles but found it difficult to get enough traction from (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: RCX Tank Base

Are non-Lego treads are out of the question? I've had lots of luck with different brands including the ones shown on my very old web page at www.borg.com/~pinkmice JB (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: RCX Tank Base

<SNIP> (...) I haven't tried any adhesives on my tracks yet, but I was thinking of trying hot-glue if it doesn't melt the LEGO's or some tub caulk. School glue and/or wood glue (leaning more towards wood glue) may have enough strength to hold and it (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Line following algorithms

(...) I don't think there is really a good source for this information, yet. I'm planning on making a web page with information about line following, including event locations, in the near future. One place to look is the regular robot clubs. Like: (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Another cement mixer......

(...) Hi Tobbe, sorry for delay in replying you, I have pleasure in your comment. As you specified, main news on this model are RCX's applications. Really my target is building a big "work zone" technic figure scale with 3-4 interactive models (...)   Re: RCX Tank Base

(...) Yeah, tell me about it. My latest MOC (still to be published) uses 1 x 6 plates on this type of treads and I made the MOC remote controlled and had to pick up a lot of plates when I was done driving. The treads have some serious flaws but are (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)
