  Re: What's next for MindStorms

(...) Yeh, 200 parts for $60 isn't all that great of a deal. Actually, the pictures make it look like the kit is just a big computer/motor brick with wheels. However, I've got to admit the three-spoked wheel looks pretty cool! (...) That's the hunch (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: What's next for MindStorms

(...) What are Bionocle Manas? Can someone throw me a quick link to an image or spec sheet? These sound like a nice way to get rid of some money. ;) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: What's next for MindStorms

I would have to agree with Rob here. If the Spybots can not communicate with other Mindstorms stuff then they become a 30 day toy. Its amazing the Lego price for a short-term kit is $60.00. Maybe I need to find a job in Denmark! My family and I are (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: What's next for MindStorms

(...) I just hope that these Spybots can interface with Mindstorms. I wold imagine, since the Spybot tower looks to be IR, that the Spybot 'bots can also take IR commands from the RCX The Scout and the Microscout (VLL thru the Scout) can be (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: What's next for MindStorms

The 40t double-bevel gear is one I haven't seen before. The smaller two are readily available in the various Bionicle kits. Gigamesh interests me because of all those gears, the 12 triple rotors, and the 18 bogey wheels. Snaptrax, Shadowstrike, and (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: What's next for MindStorms

I also ran a search and found the portfolio of someone who worked on the project: (URL) are photos of the original ideas for the sypbots and the beacon. Interesting to see how much the spybots changed. Info at this site says they won't be released (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: What's next for MindStorms

It looks like it's more along the lines of the micro-scout, but it sounds a bit more capable. The $60 price can include more smarts, because there aren't that many lego parts with each, only about 200. I'll bet AFOL's can find a lot more to do with (...)   Re: What's next for MindStorms

(...) Thanks to you amazon.com reference, I did some searching and came up with this review: (URL) it doesn't seem to be a true MindStorms kit. Here's a quote from the reviewer: "...the Spybotics line draws its roots from the ever-popular MindStorms (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: What's next for MindStorms

I think there are plans for new kits and the theme is spying. If you go to the legomindstorms site and login you will see that there is a game about spying (found under community/games/ then chose Robohunter 2). Further, if you go to Amazon (see (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  What's next for MindStorms

I've noticed that the price of the MindStorm accessory packs has been dropping, and that Lego has introduced new sets for just about every line /except/ MindStorms (and Technic, Bionicle excluded). What's going on??? Has Lego got something really (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  LegOS presenter wanted

BrickFest 2002 is still actively looking for someone to give a LegOS presentation. If your are planning on being at BrickFest (and who wouldn't be) and have successfully wrestled LegOS into submission, please think about telling us how you did it! (...)   Hacking RS232 port to RCX

Hi, did a search but found naught. Has anyone hacked a direct RS232 interface to the RCX who could b=give me the bu=its to cut, solder and pray about? I am wanting to interface to another processor with wireless LAN for a DTI funded education (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  LegOS / Orignal Firmware

Hello All! If I have installed LegOS on the RCX (I have not done this yet!) and I want to go back to the orignal lego firmware, is it still possible to use the firmware download option in the orignal Minstorm Software? or I'll have to use firmdl3 (I (...)
