  RE: power source

Yeah, I used a multimeter and measured the 11.2V I'm going to go to my local electronic store and get all the parts (they have everything in stock) but why the 16v capacitor? -----Original Message----- From: Mathias Uhr [mailto:uhr@mathias.net] (...) (23 years ago, 14-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Lost my IR Tower

hi Peter, Why did you remove the IR diodes ? I think it's not necessary, or am I missing something. It would even be nicer, if also the IR-sensor could be left in place, but I don't know the Lego circuit. Stef Mientki (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Lost my IR Tower

Nice idea Peter !! I'll add it to my collection about the IR port of the RCX. At first I didnt see what your design could mean foe me, but .... This could be an alternative way to add "intelligent" sensors (for example through PIC or some other (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: power source

(...) What I meant when i said "unregulated" was a power supply without a 78xx in it. The power supply that I am using consists of a transformer, rectifier (4 diodes) and a 4700uf cap. This means that while it does give a clean voltage, that voltage (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: power source

In reference to (URL) have an old transformer from a tape deck that produces 11.2V AC. (I just checked it). Can I build the circuit on the above page and use this transformer? Or do I need to get one that produces DC. thanks -----Original (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Palm IR to RCX

Hi list, about a week ago i got a ris 2.0 and have spent some time to write some communication routines for infrared communication between the rcx and my palms. I've so far been very successful and a first test software is available at (URL) (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: firmware & NQC - free?

This is my dilemma: I work for an organization that encourages schools to teach engineering through the RIS using NQC. I'm creating very detailed instructions on how to install NQC and using firmware, etc. Now since this is a package of information (...) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  firmware & NQC - free?

Is there a firmware version available that I can get for free that will work with NQC on any platform (Mac, Win, Linux)? Thanks Jenny (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

(...) you need to fill out the news posting setup at (URL) it's for the newsgroups, but that's what the LUGNET discussions server is - a web (and mail) interface to a news server. HTH! :) Dan (I'd FUT to .admin.nntp, but you can't post there yet) (23 years ago, 13-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics)

It came out too easily to be the first

For what is worth, My original intention was indeed to thank Mario for the complimentary copy of his book by creating a new robot inspired by it.
