Re: idiot's guide to programming the rcx

(...) The truth is, I got all those links from the Mindstorms Internals web site. And I got there from here! (Actually, I originally found my way to LUGNET from Mindstorms Internals, and I've practically lived here ever since.) (...) Belated Happy (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: legOS

(...) I looked for the article online a week or two back, but quickly got frustrated with the DDJ web site. A more patient person than I might have better luck. (See also: (URL) ) (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: It's Time AFOL Take Action!

<stuff deleted> (...) I am surprised this thread has reared its head once again. Zack must be way behind on his LEGO message groups... :-) I posted my original message back in September. I followed that up with a couple others. I was in a very fowl, (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.space, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains)

Re: Official LEGO site has MindFest pics

(...) I could be wrong, but I would expect that trying to put motors in the knees might cause a lot of unsightly bulk there that might ruin the whole effect. I had been thinking that this might be a good application for some sort of remote linkage (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)

I don't want to get into the frames debate here, but I just like to note that the real-estate issue is different from the frames/no frames debate. Both (...)   Re: building a remote debugger for win32 -- need help

(...) Ok thnx i will try this. I should note that don't have the exact handyboard. Ours is called the botboard but it's based on the same mcu and works fine with pcbug11. (...) Well we're aiming for a real environment and therefore i think it would (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: building a remote debugger for win32 -- need help

(...) Hmm so this means you have the source code somewhere? Is it in C? I don't know anything about Delphi so I'm affraid to look at your code:-) Maybe some of the other guys do, i'll ask around Hans <-- very interested in HBDL (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Serializing tasks

(...) Hello, I'm interested in the experiences you are having about this, because soon I will probably buy one addition to my CyberMaster - one RCX. I would love to hear about your experiences.   Re: Cat by the tail!: Rcx / MindStorms Classroom

*** Forwarded from Tonya, who is having trouble posting here... *** In my opinion the mindstorms sets for $199 are the best deal. If you can buy them locally (Best Buy) then you can even save shipping. Mindstorms RIS includes the exact same parts as (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.edu)

  hbtest does not run

Hi all, Everything looks normal as far as I can tell. Able to download IC , lib_hb.icb, lib_hb.c and hbtest.c but nothing happens. I can exercise the hb functions individually using IC but hbtest.c does nothing. What could be the problem? TIA John (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: hbtest does not run

hbtest.c doesn't do anything by itself. you have to run the functions it contains at the IC command line; e.g., testmotors(); . walk thru the assembly instructions for info on using hbtest.c to test your board (URL). fred (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Connecting two RCX's

Hello, I have two RCX bricks and would like them to co-operate without using the IR-Port. Is it possible to communicate by attaching a motor port of the first RCX to a sensor port of the second? As far as I know the motors work on 9V and the sensors (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Ralph, I agree with you. But I am probably in the minority. For me all LEGO sets are only parts packs for my own buildings. Gary Istok (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.space, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains)

  Lego Protocol Patent

I periodicaly search patents assigned to Interlego just to see what kind of stuff LEGO might be up to. I noticed this one granted in September on a communications protocol. I don't get into this level of programming detail and it might not even (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Lego Protocol Patent

(...) Good grief! Maybe I should get involved in patent law (or at least spec'ing for patent lawyers). Honestly, the basic protocol that is described has been implemented LOTS of times in small proprietary projects. In fact, the fire alarm system (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Connecting two RCX's

(...) Actually, the sensors run on 9V too. Why would you not want to use the IR port to get them to cooperate? The "message" system built into them makes this the IDEAL way to communicate, expecially since you won't be tying up a sensor input or a (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Scout secrets revealed

(...) Strictly speaking, not true. A large page with navigation along the top is much better for those with limited screen real estate than a large page in a frame with a navigation frame at the top.   Re: It's Time AFOL Take Action!

I have only two significant gripes about TLG, and one of them occurs only sporadically: (1) The trend in macro-pieces (such as wall pieces, boat hulls, and columns) which replace with one brick what could (and should) be several smaller standard (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Rack and Pinion Steering

Here's where I really miss not having a digital camera. I'm working on a wheel-based 'bot that has rack-and-pinion steering, and I've run into a snag. (I realize that dual-motor steering and a caster-type rear wheel makes more sense, but I wanted a (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)
