I was wondering if using a 7.2 volt battery instead of the recommended 9.6 volt battery would require and HB modifications? (...) Sorry to have disturbed so many people but i finaly found the solution: my adapter war rated 1000 mA ..... and so it never give a voltage over 13 ... yes, it is possible for an ic program to use the serial port. see randy's instructions at (URL) this question was answered and archived in Handy Board e-mail archive. Ah, the classic "I built it and it doesn't work" story. Did you follow the incremental building instructions? I take it the answer is no. By the statement " Board OK", I meant that the tests upto the point of downloading pcode (second time with LCD in) tested OK. I did not want to bore the audience (...) I've also had trouble downloading the new downloader... I think perhaps it's not set up quite right on the web page - the file is viewed on screen instead of saved to disk in Netscape.
