The beta IC v3.1b2.1 for the Macintosh had a problem where the motor
ports came up running. It was fixed in version 3.1b3 and subsequent
beta releases. Hope this helps.

I would recommend that everyone places nylon washers on the 4 screws on
the Handy Board. I didn't have a problem, but I don't recommend
cranking steel screws down on traces.
I would also love to see a redesigned charger board with a Maxim MAX713
NiCad charger chip. This would prevent possibly overcharging the
NiCads.
Just my 2¢.
