  Great background images found

Hi, I found a great source of background images: (URL) Check it out, there are high quality pictures of the moon, earth, mars, of nebulae, etc. These pictures are not big enough for being printed, but they do fine for web publishing. If you use a (...) (22 years ago, 31-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography, FTX)

  camera advice

I just bought a Sony Cybershot DSC-P32 (there is no way my budget could stretch to anything more, plus I got this one at a discount). Anyone got any tips for using this camera to photograph lego? (the manual says you can go as close as 10cm to the (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: Photos (Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.)

(...) Cool I will have to try a setup like that when I get some time. Thanks, Kevin (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment)

  Re: good camera to get?

(...) Not sure about the camera, but you might want to buy a tripod as well. I've found it helps avoid blurry shots. Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.publish.photography, lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

  good camera to get?

I just got AU$250 in birthday money so I am now in a position to buy a usable digital camera (what I have is no good for lego since it doesnt have a macro mode). So, I want to know what camera to buy with my AU$250 (plus some of my own money). Any (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.publish.photography, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Photos (Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.)

(...) Thanks Kevin! Here are some details on what I usually do... Setup: Here's a (URL) of my usual photography setup. I used to use a long piece of heavy paper from a (very) large printer but I find the bed sheet is much easier to work with. Due to (...)   Photos (Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.)

Very nice Jason. Between that and Junkbot I can see you've been using your time very well :) I have one question. How are you taking such high quality photographs - especially the ones with the all white backgrounds? The photographs are brilliantly (...)   Fast-paced photo montage (13,000 photos in 9 minutes)

I've been taking a lot of photos of LEGO people and their creations over the past 18 months, and right after I got back from NWBrickCon 2003, I thought it would be fun to see what all those photos looked like in an ultra-fast chronological photo (...)   Re: can someone tell me how to make my photos come out better?

(...) Use a manual white balance reading if you have to. As long as there is no interfering sunlight or other light color type, the images should be fine. -jHk (22 years ago, 26-Nov-03, to lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: can someone tell me how to make my photos come out better?

Some- well alot- of it is your camera- fixed focus 4 feet to infinity ain't going to do very well in the macro realm. Something like the $200 canon A60 would do a lot better in getting closer. Just resist the urge to get closer then 4 feet. Crop if (...) (22 years ago, 26-Nov-03, to lugnet.publish.photography, FTX)

Re: can someone tell me how to make my photos come out better?

(...) Some additions to what Chris said. Not all light is created equal. I used to flood my models with incandescent light bulbs, which would put a very heavy yellow tinge on my pictures. When I moved to my new build space I put up natural light (...) (22 years ago, 24-Nov-03, to lugnet.publish.photography)

can someone tell me how to make my photos come out better?

My camera is: Concord EyeQ Duo LCD 1.3 megapixels 2x digital zoom 9.9mm f/3.2 flash the manual says its "focus free from 4 feet to infinity" No matter what I do, I cant get it to take good photos of my lego creations.   More lighting ideas...

Hello, all. I've been away from the LUGNET and the camera recently, but now I have it back I've been experimenting with yet more lighting. I've found a very useful lighting technique: lighting from beneath. It can help make pics like this: (URL) (...) (23 years ago, 28-Oct-03, to lugnet.publish.photography, FTX)
