  Re: Please read this!

(...) Well, I've got quite a nice list of books to peruse for christmas vacation. (not a bad collection, as that :) However, what if you were trying to fuse story types? For example, let's say you're writing the book in a historic stance, yet it's (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Please read this!

In lugnet.castle, Leonard Hoffman writes: Great post! (snipped it, but it's worth rereading...) I know some people don't like Orson Scott Card, and some do. But this book of his _How to Write Science Fiction & Fantasy_ is chock full of good advice. (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Ozbricks.net down?

I got an email from Ozbricks saying that somebody had maxed out the bandwith on their server, and that they would impose a 10 Gigabyte limit on bandwith, which could be raised in case of a popular site, but of which the only purpose was to prevent a (...)   Re: Ozbricks.net down?

John, It shut down my Visual Helper site, too. (2 URLs) address used to be a redirect to the .com site. But it's blocked with the same message. The websites linked to on the front hosting page of ozbricks.com are still working, but they have a .com (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.publish)

Everything at www.ozbricks.net is down, including my website. www.ozbricks.net/kru...h/home.htm However, everything at www.ozbricks.com is fine. Maybe the .net's server is down? Does anybody know what's happening? -JHK (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Camera ?'s

I don't know about a video camera, but for a still camera you should look for: Resolution (megapixels)- you can crop small stuff out of large pictures that you couldn't do otherwise with smaller sizes, and get more detail Zoom: Might not be (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.publish)

Re: Star Wars LDraw Models by Nth Dimension Website

(...) Opps sorry about that. Those links have been fixed. One had a type (no one left to speak) and the other was linking somehere else. =) Here is a quicker link to them: (URL) this way you miss the rest of the website. =( (...) There are 6 in the (...)   Camera ?'s

Hello I havn't posted here befor but I wanted to know what type of things I should look for on a camera (I'm looking for both still and video info; not necessarily together.) Also I would like to also know what type of editing software you would (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: One last BrickShelf suggestion...

(...) Is it just me, or has Brickshelf been running very smoothly today? Albeit I'm on a T1 line, but over the past few weeks, that sort of thing hasn't been any better than a 24.4 modem when cruising the shelf. Anyone else getting these nice (...)   Re: Suggestions wanted

(...) You bet ;-) No, it's really easy. Like I said, I made a template page and just reuse it. It's easy for me to do this, as it's just a bunch of code. Once you learn to read it, you "see" the website before it's published (or just viewed in your (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Suggestions wanted

(...) What..... actually type filenames in? by hand!!! You have no idea how lazy I am :-). Actually many times the manual method would have been a lot quicker. I've spent hours in the past persisting with the "simplified" method where the software (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Suggestions wanted

(...) Notepad and FTP ;-) You can't go wrong with that! I've created a template webpage for my site, and I use a FTP address with IE to upload my files. I find the hardest thing about making a website is creating and editing the images. I use (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: One last BrickShelf suggestion...

(...) Doesn't Pair drop the busiest day? I don't think it would be very ethical or practical, but we could have brickshelf rotate each day between each of our accounts and not have to worry about it again. :) Ben Roller (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: One last BrickShelf suggestion...

If only there was some way to donate unused bandwidth. I've paid for up to 400MB/day for 2 years on pair and filled about 25 of it on average. I would hate to have a surprise 5GB day to pay for though. Some kind of cgi that would serve only x copies (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: One last BrickShelf suggestion...

(...) I know that a great many people use Brickshelf for image deep linking (myself included). The bandwidth demands for a site with as many pictures as Brickshelf can be pretty impressive for someone who has to pay for bandwidth. As an example, (...)   Re: One last BrickShelf suggestion...

I have all of my Lego content at (URL) which is hosted by DixieSys. I pay a whopping $4/mo for my space/BW. I managed to get in on a 2-for-1 sale, so I have 6Gigs/mo for that $4. Registering vfaq.org cost me less than $20. You can easily create a (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: One last BrickShelf suggestion...

I'd gladly donor a small amount of money to Brickshelf even though I don't use it for my own pictures (sure, I have an rather filled account but it's outdated and all new material goes to my site only, someday I'll remove all pics but one and (...)   Re: A new website with a bonus! New Movie!

Pawel! It's been a while. (...) Thanks much! Originally it had a lot more sound effects, but the effects and the music clashed so much that I removed them. As an added bonus, it also made the movie smaller. Can't complain about that one. (...) (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.publish)
