  Re: www.fibblesnork.com still active?

(...) I don't get it on my browser either. (...) I haven't heard of anything. -Shiri (24 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.publish)

  www.fibblesnork.com still active?

Part of the Fibblesnork(tm) site content (the set guide, the ratings, the info on auctions, the legal info, etc.) was moved to LUGNET(tm) a while back... I, and many others I am sure, use the Fibblesnork background images, in large part because (...) (24 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Reliable Web Host

I use Xeran (www.xeran.com) for mine. From what I can tell, it seems to kick Pair's butt around the block when it comes to features/price. There's no bandwidth cap and it sounds like they could handle a couple of slashdots a day without breaking a (...) (24 years ago, 2-Aug-01, to lugnet.publish)

  RE: Reliable Web Host

www.dellz.com is the cheapest I've found, especially for the options available. The support is quick, but they're still getting started so there have been some bumps along the way. I haven't been with them long enough to see how reliable they are. (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jul-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Reliable Web Host

(...) I checked out Pair.com and it looks pretty good. I think I can satisfy my requirements with their most basic service. There are so many webhosting companies out there, it's hard to choose. Thanks for the advice. T. J. (24 years ago, 31-Jul-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Reliable Web Host

(...) Well I don't know how much (if anything) you are willing to spend but several AFOL's have their sites hosted at pair networks www.pair.com in fact that is where LUGNET is hosted. I have the NELUG site there along with a couple of personal (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jul-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Reliable Web Host

Can anyone suggest a good, reliable web host, please? My site does about 1 GB of "business" per month, which is about 4 times the traffic I'm allowed by Texas.net. So, I'm tired of watching the web monitor and ordering extra capacity. I guess having (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jul-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: only paint w/ grey

(...) I think color blind people have a right to insist that *designers* (not fine artists) avoid red/green or red/dark gray color schemes. You must realize that one in five males suffers from some degree of color blindness (usually red/green). I (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Annoying change to honesty.com counters

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I just tried to add another honesty.com counter to one of my web pages and noticed that this service has been taken over by andale.com. I noticed that my existing counters still work, but I can't seem to (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.publish)

Re: Creating a webpage Was Re: 12 of my favorite pictures of Legoland, CA

(...) <snipped away Brendan's nine excuses> Not to be trite or anything, but "Just do it!" Now while you're on vacation. It won't be absolutely perfect to begin with-- heck, I was tickled to even create a page that only had text! Here was a webpage (...)   RE: Question about posting DAT files here

(...) JPEG is a lossy compression format. This means that in order to compress the file size, the JPEG compression algorithm averages boxes of pixels, losing some data along the way. The higher the compression, the boxier (the more artifacts) it (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.publish)

  Re: 2002 NELUG wall calendar

(...) Umm, I don't usually do print stuff (and therefore am mostly talking out of my posterior, here) but I can recommend Micro Print on Bear Hill Rd. in Waltham. I needed something very specific, but didn't know the right terms to put it in, but (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug, lugnet.publish)

  Re: 2002 NELUG wall calendar

Dangerously, I got to thinking again... (...) Agreed, definitely no argument. In my mind I was thinking b+1 if anything. I just wanted to acknowledge that it's a bad idea to screen a photo in full- color... you tend to lose the yellows, bright (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug, lugnet.publish)

  Re: 2002 NELUG wall calendar

(...) I'm not arguing, just saying.. A screened graphic could travel under date boxes. In which case multicolor wouldn't be out of the question. Percentage varies greatly with ink, screen type, and paper stock. If spec'ing a PMS color for instance, (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.nelug, lugnet.publish)

  Re: new feature on peeron.com!

(...) yup - that would be because partsref (and ldraw format) do not have a color yet for Sand* bricks... so it will default to the gray, just to show you the shape, if not the color... Not much we can do about it, besides hope that it'll be fixed (...) (24 years ago, 10-Jul-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: new feature on peeron.com!

(...) Ahhh. Very nice. One thing I noticed - the "SandGreen" parts (in 3450) display as grey, at least on my browser. 8?( Regards ROSCO (24 years ago, 10-Jul-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: new feature on peeron.com!

(...) Wahoo! Excellent! It's great to be able to print the whole thing and take it to the worktable, rather than go back and forth to the computer clicking on (Ref) and (Pic). I've been trying to do this with Excel but it's not near as slick as (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jul-01, to lugnet.publish)
