  Re: taking good photos

(...) I don't know exactly how much mine is, but it's somewhere close to 3 inches. Either way, the camera usually obstructs enough of the light to prevent the autofocus from kicking in well before the camera gets too close to focus. (...) Alright, (...)   Re: taking good photos

Thanks to all for your input! I can't retake my earlier photos of my capital ship but future posts should look alot better. I didn't anything about photography before this. Thanks again :-) (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.publish.photography)

  Re: taking good photos

I've got the tripod and the extra light available. I'm stuck though on the software for modifying the photos. Any shareware out there? Nice picture by the way. That's how I want mine to look... Thanks for the insight. Wow, what a novice I am. I (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)

  Re: Update from Bricks Magazine

Thank you, Tim and the folks at Brick Magazine, for this update. As with most members, I'm sure we are all well aware of delays, and will support you to overcome these obstacles. Will there be a way, once the database has been restored, to review (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-03, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: taking good photos

(...) True, it's hard to get a perfect day, especially if you don't have time to take pictures while it's light out. It's also more difficult to set up a backdrop or the perfect view angle. I usually take my photos indoors too, but then again my (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)

  Re: taking good photos

(...) I agree, reducing the image size should always result in a sharper image, where cropping will not change the sharpness. I more meant that one reason I find myself getting too close to the subject is that I am trying to frame the shot to (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-03, to lugnet.publish.photography)

  Re: taking good photos

(...) I've found that with properly arranged directional lighting, I can get very rich, colorful photos with excellent overall illumination. Outdoors gets tricky because sunny days will create stark shadows while overcast days will cause lots of (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)

  Re: taking good photos

(...) This really depends on the camera. Mine, for example, has a focus range of 2.0 cm to infinity, and a manual focus if the auto focus isn't doing its job. Also, in order to get a greater depth of field, you should reduce the aperture (increase (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-03, to lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: Insert LEGO sets into your LUGNET pages

(...) Whoops! I was missing a 'require' statement which was causing a library not to load and the function not to be available. Thanks for reporting this. --Todd (22 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.publish)

Re: Insert LEGO sets into your LUGNET pages

(...) Great! Say, Dave -- you want your columns to line up nicer? Instead of ~| in the third column, try ~< , which will make that column flush left, and the pictures of the sets should line up nicely. :) --Todd (22 years ago, 17-May-03, to lugnet.publish)

Interest in LPub and Lsynth presentations

I presented LPub, my building instruction generation to (based on LDraw file format, L3P and POV-Ray) at BricksWest, and it was favorably received. Much has changed in LPub since then. I was wondering if people were interested in a presentation on (...) (22 years ago, 16-May-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, lugnet.publish, lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: Insert LDraw parts into your LUGNET pages

Also, curators can create other pages anywhere under the groups they curate (just like members can, but they don't need a membership number), for example (a rather out of date page): (URL) that members can create pages anywhere in the system, (...)   Re: Insert LDraw parts into your LUGNET pages

(...) Seems like you've got it! I guess I should have been more clear. FTX can be used for your personal pages (as being a LUGNET member), but not for your specific membership "about me" page. Also, if you're a curator, you use FTX for the sidebar. (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-03, to lugnet.publish)
