First off I love this lego promo. TLG has hit hard with advertisement, here in southern california there are billboard signs, radio ads, and promotional signage at each shell station. In addition to this my son recieved a postcard alerting him to (...) (24 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.promo)

Sunday night I stopped for gas at yet another Shell Station here in North Carolina in hopes that they might know something about the promo sets. (...) I was kinda disappointed in them, as compared to, say, the 2nd series Ninja sets. 1287 is the same as 4811 Defense Archer, and all of them have the minifigs we'll have too many of. I have been saying for years that California is the promised land, and now TLG acknowledges it. Indeed the shell promotion is underway here in Southern California. There are tons of signs around all the gas stations advertising this promotion. The (...) (24 years ago, 11-Apr-00, to lugnet.promo)
