  Re: HMS Kestrel

(...) Har-Har! Seriously, Micheal, you don't have to be so hard on yourself :) Pick up a good book on sailing ships from the public library, or find some images on-line and give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised on how well you do! Aaron (20 years ago, 1-Jul-04, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: HMS Kestrel

(...) Thank-you, Richie, for the nice comments! As for the era of pirate hulls being over, no, I don't think so. I use bricks for ships larger than the pirate hulls, but still use pirate hulls for the smaller ships - bricks don't look so good on (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jul-04, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: HMS Kestrel

  Re: A couple of sloops

These look nice. The first looks a bit square from above. I like the use of the wall panels on the 2nd one. That looks like it would be a good basis for a class 1 ship for the pirate game. Frank (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: A couple of sloops

Now that's a good idea. I'll have to get those arches out and play around with them. Thanks! Marc Nelson Jr. (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: HMS Kestrel

(...) Never! As long as there are those of us with no skill, the official pirate pieces shall endure. Onward mediocre builders... :D Michael (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  A couple of sloops

(That's sloops as in 'sloop rigged', not as in 'sloop-of-war'). (And sorry about the pic quality... can't be helped at the moment). I spent a day at home with a cold yesterday, so what better time to play with some SNOT construction? MUCUS seems so (...) (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.pirates, FTX) !

Between this and Ben's USS Constitution, I have to ask - is the era of pirate hulls over? And nice rigging too... inspirational stuff. A (...) (20 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  HMS Kestrel

Hello everyone! I have been visiting Lugnet for over 4 years now, and just recently became a member. I wanted to show everyone my new ship (well, two-year old ship, actually) - HMS Kestrel. You can see her here: (URL) His Majesty's Schooner Kestrel (...) (20 years ago, 27-Jun-04, to lugnet.pirates) !

Re: why has lego direct ignored the space theme?

(...) Yeah, right. Keep talking smack like that, and I may just show up this year and bring another "boat" with me. Can't you guys go pick on Galidor or something? Yo ho ho, LFB PS: I'm still weeping over the non-appearance of the Battrax. FOUL, I (...) (20 years ago, 24-Jun-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: why has lego direct ignored the space theme?

(...) Well, we pirate types do have an advantage. We don't need to delcare any stinking war, we just go a' plundering. ~Clangador (20 years ago, 23-Jun-04, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: why has lego direct ignored the space theme?

(...) And on a non-existent theme, at that. What a bunch of wimps. And what does this really have to do with pirates, anyway? Keep the whining about space stuff in space. (20 years ago, 23-Jun-04, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) I like that idea, but I think I only have one of those hook plate pieces. I have a bunch of the 1x2 hook plates where the hook points up though. Here's the idea I had, although the pictures don't explain it well at all. (URL) used one of those (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jun-04, to lugnet.pirates)

The Serpent (and a mermaid figurehead)

The Serpent is a merchant ship, although for the pictures, I just put a few random minifigures on it. It is basically the Emperor's ship or whatever from the Adventure line, but a few tiny changes that I made so that I like it better. (URL) smallest (...)
