  Ugh, smokey Lego!!

I ordered a 6274 from some guy over eBay...I could see a few pieces were substituted, but what I didn't know was that he was a smoker! So, today I got my first smokey Lego. It REEKS! I mean, it stinks up my whole room! I threw everything (save the (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-04, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: ESPG Rule Mod?

(...) I really like the idea of using draught as a quality--it would slow down the really "big" ships in and amongst the islands, and allow maneuverability to mean something. But it also would give the cutters an advantage in getting to the treasure (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-04, to lugnet.gaming, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: ESPG Rule Mod?

(...) I'm sorry, that sounded really arrogant. What I meant is that I just bought a TON of gold for the pirate game, and that it seems like a waste not to use it. Frank, do you make everyone empty their pockets after a game ends? Just curious. (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-04, to lugnet.gaming, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: ESPG Rule Mod?

I wouldn't go with the draft idea, unless it was minimal. If anything, I'd say class minus three inches. This would make big ships use boats, but allow cutters to pull right up next to the islands. Ports would of course be deep enough for anything (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-04, to lugnet.gaming, lugnet.pirates)

Re: Introducing Myself, and My Ships

(...) Well, I'm building smaller ships to start out with. So, it only takes me a couple hours a week to build one ship. I just got done with this week's ship today. I have enough hulls and assorted parts to last me another month or so. Once I have (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-04, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Ship's Bell

(...) That sounds a lot more like a gong than a bell. ;P The closest I can figure out is to put a 1x1 round brick, 1x1 cone, minifig head, or micro-motor pulley on top of the 2x2 radar dish, but that pretty much rules out using the chrome radar. (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-04, to lugnet.pirates)

  Ship's Bell

It occured to me recently that, while Lego has given many ships a lovely compass, they've neglected one of the most symbolic pieces of a ship, which every [large] ship ought to have: the ship's bell. I'd like to hear you guys' ideas on how we might (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-04, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Introducing Myself, and My Ships

Morten Soerensen's Denmark-Based bricks4you.com™ BULK store. (URL) He had 700 red/white striped pirate torso assemblies that came with the original heads. I bought them and 700 pants of medium blue, sand green, and sand red, to make 700 new pirates. (...) (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Introducing Myself, and My Ships

(...) Holy cow! Where did you find 700 pirates for sale? or did you buy them from a whole bunch of different places? Nice ships, by the way. -Clangador (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Introducing Myself, and My Ships

(...) Well, I grew up with Lego. My first set was when I was in 2nd grade or before, I think. I remember it was a little Blacktron II fighter. I always wanted the pirates though. I had a friend who had a 6274 (I think...never saw it assembled) and I (...) (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Introducing Myself, and My Ships

(...) Ahoy! Good to see you posting here! You only started in 2002? I thought I was a late starter... (...) Without question! I really like this one... I'm not a ESPGer myself, but that's a fantastic little vessel, the lateen rig is a nice match for (...) (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Introducing Myself, and My Ships

(URL) Hello! I'm Wes Davis, a fellow AFOL. In 2002, I started buying pirate legos, starting with two 6285 sets and one 6286. I'd promised myself I'd buy these ships (which I'd always wanted growing up) and now that I had the means, I went for it. (...) (...) "BricksWest Carlsbad, CA - February 16-18, 2002. Thanks to Derek Schin and Frank Filz for big help on this one. Frank has now converted me to the "Lego Ruler" camp." I just ran across that bit (URL) here>. Still no mention in the official (...) (20 years ago, 28-Apr-04, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: The Penguin

(...) Hmm, that's not a bad idea. My friend has a thing for penguins; He likes them. I have no idea way. But that would bring a liitle more penguin flavor to the ship. (20 years ago, 29-Apr-04, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  ESPG Rule Mod?

Reading some accounts of pirates, I notice they tended to add weapons to their ships. Is there any reason why a player in ESPG couldn't add extra cannons to their ships? I mean, as long as they buy or get them somehow via the game system. One more (...) (20 years ago, 28-Apr-04, to lugnet.pirates)

  The Penguin

I'm trying to get my friend to play ESPG with me. So, I made him this for him. It's named The Penguin and rates as a class two ship in the game. (URL) (20 years ago, 28-Apr-04, to lugnet.pirates)
