  Ships (was Re: My Ships)

(...) Which is a pity... there have been a few, though. The big issue is hulls - the LEGO hulls are not wide enough to render a ship of the line easily. Lots of people have considered cutting them though... and I recall a claim that it had been done (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Lobsters and Frogs debate...

(...) Dash out- here is why. i know that i dont stand a chance in a ship-to-ship broadside-to-braodside action with Port Briques ships. so, i dash out to sea with them on my tail, leave em behind, poke my head out ever once and a while, taking pot (...)   Re: My Ships

(...) Six carronades, two twenty four pounders, and about two dozen nine pounders. i can pack a pretty good punch with those. count in the brig..that adds around eight, ten more nine pounders to the bunch. (...) More like an englishman berzerk with (...) (22 years ago, 31-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: My Ships

(...) You reckon? How many guns between them? And not little six pound pea shooters, but real guns? (...) Mu hahahaha? Is that the sound of an Englishman drowning? :-) (...) Yes, yes, you can sail around like a squadron of angry mosquitos, but what (...) (22 years ago, 31-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: My Ships

(...) But why should he dash out? It'll bee just like you running away if not. (...) But it's pretty hard to get into a harbor without going through some guard ships. And twenty marines in an unfilimiar armed city against sixty-something marines (...) (22 years ago, 31-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: My Ships

(...) My frigate and Sloop can make short work of most of what you can send out. besides, i can dash out to sea, making you follow. and you never know what i could be planning, then.... Mu hahahaah! (...) You continue to forget the efficiency of the (...) (22 years ago, 31-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: My Ships

(...) Out of range of what, exactly? Port Brique has mortars and long guns too. And if a ketch is bobbing about off the coast lobbing shells at the Port, it's a relativeling easy matter to dispatch a ship or two to teach it a lesson ;-) (...) If (...) (22 years ago, 30-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: My Ships

(...) blockade, and rot on patrol? (...) Ah, threatening. but more likely just a pose. Why do you think i chose to have a fleet of small, almost tiny ships? with perhaps five marines each? not just because i have a shortage of bricks. My ketch can (...)   Re: my British squadron

(...) I agree with you. not only do i not speak french or spanish, i dont like eaither fleet. at Trafalgar, while the British crews cheered, the spanish and french crews prayed. Caugh* (...) Yeah, the Privateer fleet will get gunboats, which will (...) (22 years ago, 30-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: more Viking Ships

(...) Good lord! I thought *one* was dangerous. This is disturbing... Brickley's Cove is only a few hours sail from Lance aux Meadows (the Viking camp ca. 1000 AD in Newfoundland). And sure, it may be 1806 in the cove... but somehow the LEGO (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: more Viking Ships

(...) The vikings have the reputation of being fairly piratic ;-) (...) That's a nice raiding fleet! (...) A good choice! Cheers Richie Dulin (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Assault on the Hacienda

(...) Keith, This looks great, I really like the level of detail you've added. The wave and swimmer is nice, the quay and tunnel (with stealthy Ninja) is very nicely done. Thanks, George (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  more Viking Ships

I don't know if this is the right subject to post on .Pirates, but I have added to my Viking fleet and would like you to see it. I was going to redo my second Viking ship, I set out the parts and started to lay down the plates and instead built (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: My Ships

(...) But the French Squadron of Port Brique has the advantage of consisting of a brig and a pair of chase maries (sloops in the modern sense of sloop) assisted by three single cannon sailing gunboats. And they have the even bigger advantage of not (...) (22 years ago, 27-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Assault on the Hacienda

(...) Ahoy, Very nice work! I particularly like the sea wall design shown in (URL) it's always reassuring to see red coats on the losing side! Cheers Richie Dulin (22 years ago, 27-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Assault on the Hacienda

Good lord! Horse Guards must be informed of such a slaughter -- I pity the next of His Majesty's Ships to visit that port seeking rest and resupply! Love the fort -- and the water texturing is excellent. Good number of decapitations, too -- gotta (...) (22 years ago, 27-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Assault on the Hacienda

Submitted for your approval, the Imperial General's seaside hacienda, where he get away from the day-to-day grind of bringing justice to pirates. Watch as the sleepy beachfront is assaulted by a never-before encountered foe, the army of the Shogun! (...) (22 years ago, 27-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: my British squadron

(...) If it's a British squadron, you needn't worry -- I always blame my shortage of manpower on the fact that the small population of Britain is crewing the LARGEST and MOST SUCCESSFUL fleet of the period, and arguably the most successful relative (...)   Re: My Ships

Hi Don, Great work on the Viking raider -- like Richie says, it'd be great to see in in action! Who knows, a good shallow-draught landing boat could be useful in a multinational fleet... really good for getting up rivers, as I'm pretty certain (...) (22 years ago, 27-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Announcing the launch

Hi Mike, Well, once again, just a splendid piece of building. And hats off to the excellent custom work you managed with Utile Plast -- I really think you should give lessons to us lesser mortals in that regard... : ) And of course, excellent choice (...)
