  Re: Old pirate models

(...) That's it? Puts Port Brique in a whole new light -- *very* well done to go from a small resource base to becoming the dominant French concentration in the South Pacific! (...) Very nifty -- it's like a microcosm of fortress design throughout (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Old pirate models

Ahoy! Sorting through some old stuff at home, I found some photos of models I'd built before I became active on LUGNET, and long before Port Brique was conceived. Way back in 1998(?), I had very few pirate sets (2 Imperial Bastions, the smallest (...) (22 years ago, 16-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Pirate Project?

(...) I think its good. You should try to get something together along these lines, like i am with the CastleQuest project(Though its kreeping alont at a tiny pace, its getting done. Here is what i think would be a more streamlined version of this (...) (22 years ago, 15-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Return of the Swallows, Mission San Juan Capistrano, CA

Some of the SCLTC club members will be bringing a slightly enlarged "Pirates attacking the Mission" layout for this year's Return of the Swallows Cellebration at Mission San Juan Capistrano (expected size is 70" x 120"). The Pirate theme was (...)   Re: MOC: WWII Japanese Heavy Cruiser "Takao"

Wow! A very impressive model with a lot of amazing details. Unfortunately a lot of the pictures in the "exposition" section appear to be broken or at least halfway-broken, although the thumbnails look ok. For example 3-takao-todd-02.jpg (...)   Re: Shipshull problems

(...) Indeed. There seem to be a number of us imperial warmongers floating about (forgive the pun) these days. Aways nice to have more. (...) Well, I've done a significant bit of building with plain bricks, because especially since reading (...) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Shipshull problems

(...) Two suggestions, using slopes, SNOT style would give a nice angle on the sides or perhaps you could copy the hull from the USS constellation Heres the link to the brickshelf instruction scan (URL) (22 years ago, 5-Mar-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Shipshull problems

Re: Peeron crosses 2000 inventory mark!

(...) When exactly did the transition to hollow studs occur? This *can* be cleaned up, sorta (see below), although it's time consuming. A parts database that allowed built-in ambiguity of which part a given inventory has might be a better solution. (...) (22 years ago, 27-Feb-03, to lugnet.db.brictionary, lugnet.pirates)

Re: Semi-OT Good books about the British-French disputes in the West Indies

Hi Jason, Now that you mention it, I'm much in the same boat (forgive the pun) when it comes to the West Indies (ironic as my father is from Trinidad & Tobago). If you're looking for more general overviews of war at sea in the French Revolutionary (...) (22 years ago, 26-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Semi-OT Good books about the British-French disputes in the West Indies

Lately I've been researching my family history and I've been trying to find out more about an ancestor who served with the 15th Regiment of Foot in the British West Indies at the end of the 18th Century particularly during the British take over of (...)   Interesting part for shipbuilding

Ahoy, A new shipment arrived recently to stock the Port Brique shipyards, and included two examples of an element I haven't seen before.   ozBricks Fans Websites

Hi everybody. Since a lot of LEGO fans have websites under ozBricks, and most of us don't even know of their existence, I made a website that contains a full list of links to those websites. www.ozbricks.net/links It's divided so far to sectors like (...)   Re: My friend's newly built homepage

Hi Bruce, thanks for your reply. I will definitely told Yicke about that. I kind of remember we talked before in lugnet?   Re: MOC: WWII Japanese Heavy Cruiser "Takao"

This is too big to even comment on effectively. I could spend hours pouring ove the details of the deck and the functionality of the midship compartments alone (and probably will). Hi Soren, John, Matt and Eric, Thanks very much on your replies and comments on Yicke's homepage. Sorry I am not able to reply to some of your questions though I am sure he will reply to you.
