Re: What's going on in the LEGO world?

(...) "A Warehouse, Not A Home" by Bett Padgett on "More Than Time". You may find it hard to find (she's a folk singer from Raleigh). The refrain goes: Cause I don't need another rotorooter, electric train set or kerosene stove Compressor, (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-02, to lugnet.people, lugnet.general)

Re: What's going on in the LEGO world?

(...) Wow, that's worse than my place was. At least in my place, three people could sit around the dining room table. I'm really hoping that my 500k piece collection will fit into my 2 bedroom apartment with room to spare. I'm planning on only (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-02, to lugnet.people, lugnet.general)

Re: What's going on in the LEGO world?

There's nothing really going on out of the ordinary here. This happens to at least one "large collection" person a year, if not more. I stated my reasons - I live in a 2BR apt, and I'm looking at buying a house (this was a longtime wish, but just (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.people, lugnet.general)

Re: What's going on in the LEGO world?

(...) Not sure what angle you're going after here. Three of the four posts are really just folks downsizing because they're realizing they're being overwhelmed by their collection. Being in the process of unpacking a 500k piece collection after a (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.people, lugnet.general)

Others have replied to your post already, but since you've been here off and on for quite a while, I thought you might be interested in an aspect no one has brought up.   Re: What's going on in the LEGO world?

(...) Ebay and Lugnet are about the only thing that have kept me building, or for that matter, out of my dark age. I'm doing fine myself, as well. For the last year or so, I have avoided Bionicle, Jack Stone, etc, and focused my building talents on (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.people)

Re: What's going on in the LEGO world?

(...) Yeah. I agree. There's some good stuff online, and hey, I've grown up with late 1990's and 2000's Legos, and I'm doing fine. If you can afford it, try bricklink or ebay! Parts are doing pretty good this year: lots of sets with nice parts. (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.people)

Re: What's going on in the LEGO world?

Re: What's going on in the LEGO world?

(...) Remember that you (hopefully) still have all your old bricks. LEGO seems to be dropping the "Basic" sets from the shops in Denmark (I found _one_ single box in two shops last weekend), but I hope that it then at least will be possible to order (...)   What's going on in the LEGO world?

Hello, I'm not sure if you remember me, but I used to be pretty active here before. About six months ago, I entered a short "dark age" but now I want to start building again, and posting on Lugnet. However... I picked up the 2002 catalog to see (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.people)

  So, you wanna talk strategy….

To outsiders, Lego collecting appears like a reasonably sedate hobby. After all, Lego is fun and colorful, and anything meant for kids must be inherently pure and good. Therefore, onlookers regard collecting Lego as a relatively peaceful pursuit. (...)   Eek! I lost my password and member number.

My excite e-mail pretty much screwed me over and deleted all of my mail including the one with my Lugnet password and member number. Does anyone know how I can go about retreiving it, or am I pretty much screwed? (24 years ago, 6-Apr-02, to lugnet.people)

  Purchasing my first home!

I'm now in escrow with my first home! I can't wait to get out of my apartment. This somewhat offsets my recent divorce in terms of happiness! And it's just under 1,300 square feet (including the Arizona Room) so there's plenty of room for Lego! (...) (24 years ago, 5-Apr-02, to lugnet.people)
