  Re: Silkscreening parts

(...) Indeed. The approach I used was to apply SolvaSet(tm) (A Walthers product IIRC, or maybe Microscale) to get the decal to conform to the shape of the model (fitting over rivets and the like) and then after it dried and was in good shape, a coat (...)   Re: Silkscreening parts

(...) As a former scale model fan, I know that there a quite a few products out there for durably securing a decal to your model. The problem is that these solutions are semi-permanent and the piece(s) will alway have that decal on it. This is great (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts.mod)

  Re: Silkscreening parts

(...) Do you mean decals or stickers? I believe decals are printed on decal paper and you use water to float them off their backing and transfer them while wet, while stickers are printed on dry adhesive backed paper. Tangentially, there is a (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts.mod)

  Silkscreening parts

Hey nice, somebody made a new forum just in time for my question. Has anybody tried silkscreening onto Lego parts? I've been doing a lot of custom decals lately, running label paper through my inkjet, but I can't help but wonder if silkscreening (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts.mod)

(...) Here's a neat little trick someone taught me about using the thumbnails automatically generated by Brickshelf. Add /thumb/image.jpg(und...)thumb.jpg and you will link to the thumb instead of the full image. So: (URL) Better yet, make the (...) (20 years ago, 4-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

Your answer juxtaposed with Larry's question still don't make the slightest ounce of sense. :-) -->Bruce<-- p.s. you two are the guys screwing up my correctly directed post. :-) p.p.s. See! (...)   Re: Do you mind if I modify the topic? (Larry Puns Again)

(...) It suddenly dawned on me that I couldn't recall that I had ever seen a lugnet.parts.mod forum so I ambled back here to see that it is in fact new. X-Acto® hobby knife? No. Dremel® rotary tool? No. Victorinox® Swiss Army™ Knife! I always have (...) (20 years ago, 4-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

Do you mind if I modify the topic? (was Re: Right on Schedule, ... or was it?

(...) Do you mind if I ask a question(1) about these fine mods rather than comment directly? I was wondering how you shaped these? Xacto® knife or equivalent? Dremel® cutoff tool or equivalent? Something else? Would you be willing to share that (...) (20 years ago, 3-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

(...) And proud of it, man. (...) What!?! Of course I'm bad for doing it. I am good at doing it however. (...) It had to do with axe grinding, and not specifically Lego, though Lego was in fact the medium. And how the FUT went entirely depended on (...) (20 years ago, 3-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)
