Has anyone made thier own weight bricks? My thought was to hollow out the bottom of a brick with a dremel, then fill it with BBs. And finally glue a plate across the bottom. Has anyone seen instructions, schematics, plans, rough sketches on napkins, etc. for custom electric LEGO parts? LEGO seems to be getting out of the electronics business, which is a shame IMHO. The available selection is quite limited (and pricey (...) (22 years ago, 12-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts.mod, lugnet.parts.custom)

My contact has printed a couple versions and Jason's been making improvements to the files that give us better results. I'll have pics (...) (...) Using a BBB wheel would be the best starting point. I know that many of the train builders in Europe use the old spoked wheel, with a custom metal flanged tire added. I'd recomend turning a standard BBB to remove the flang and a git of the (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-04, to lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.trains)

(...) In HO the presence/absence of tyres is sometimes considered a sign of low/hi quality. High quality models don't have them because they don't need them, they free roll enough that adhesion due to weight is sufficient. IIRC slippage is more (...) Sorry for replying to my own post but I just thought of something that some of these wheels may need to incorporate. I bet there needs to be some sort of rubber traction "tire" on non-conducting wheels. I would hate to see all this get mocked up and (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-04, to lugnet.parts.custom)

My thinking was to use a technic beam as the support structure and have a small ball bearing (bee bee?) and spring in one of the technic holes behing the wheel. That way, (...)
