I picked up a few of the 4562 200+200 bonus piece sets from Walgreens a couple of days ago. These bonus type sets are definately great fun and I hope LEGO do more of them. In 12 of the 18 sets I got, there was a strange new part, just like this one: (...) (21 years ago, 31-Oct-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.parts)

I've been reading the buzz today about the new 4562 set. There's a Walgreen's here where I live (Lafayette, IN) and one on the next town over the river too. I went to the first one not having any idea how much the set would cost. I was pleasantly (...) (21 years ago, 31-Oct-04, to lugnet.inv, lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.parts, FTX)

(...) Yes and no. A year back or so, someone was asking if TLC had ever made 1x1 plates in orange. I could not find any, but I did try some LEGO-modification by taking a 1x1 plate with clip-lite and very carefully trimming off the clip-lite with an (...) (...) Of course you're correct. I guess I thought of all the parts that allow 180 degree connections as "hermaphrodite", but realize now that's not the accurate term. (...) Now that I think of it, isn't "hermaphrodite" incorrect in this context? I mean, a 1x1 brick is hermaphroditic re: male:female connection points. The part you're describing might be more accurately described as male:male. Dave! (21 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

(...) No, Lego apparently can't justify the cost of producing the mold for such a part, nor that of a plate with studs on both sides; however, you can have your fill of useful parts like this: (URL) :-) Mark (21 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.parts, FTX)
