  Re: Yes or no?

(...) Hi, Rich-- Initially I wasn't sure if I owned any LEGO Ninja sets, and then I couldn't remember if MBI produced two versions of the katana. Thanks for the quick answer! Dave! (20 years ago, 17-Nov-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

  Yes or no?

Is this a LEGO katana? (URL) Or is it a variation of a Mega Bloks sword? (URL) Thanks for any info. Dave! (20 years ago, 17-Nov-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: 3x1 curved slope available in dark bluish gray

(...) None that I could see, unfortunately. I believe one of the sets has them in yellow and one has them in black. I really like that piece as well and am waiting for them to be more easily available in other colors in addition to light bley. (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: 3x1 curved slope available in dark bluish gray

(...) Did you notice if any of them also had light bley 1x1x2/3 slopes? At present they are only included in one of the more expensive sets. Thanks, Tim (20 years ago, 16-Nov-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: 3x1 curved slope available in dark bluish gray

(...) So I did actually have the packaging from one of these. The item number is 8661, Name: Carbon Star. There are 3 more racers in the line: 8663, 8664, 8666. From the picture it looks as if 8666 comes with (8) of these slopes in black. All are at (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: 3x1 curved slope available in dark bluish gray

(...) Those are all the $9.99 USD selection racers. I believe the two 3x1 parts on the front of 8669 are dark bley. I did not buy this set, but on the packaging they looked like dark bley (though they look black here). The smaller, $3.99 selections, (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: 3x1 curved slope available in dark bluish gray

(...) I think I threw all the packaging and instructions out and I can't find any leaked pictures of it to use as reference. Sorry. I will double check tonight when I go home. I know it comes with some orange 1x2 tiles and black hubs on the wheels. (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: 3x1 curved slope available in dark bluish gray

(...) Do you know which one it was? [LEGOSet 8657] contains two in light bley and [LEGOSet 8655] contains four in black as well as two red and two white Slope Brick 45 1 x 1 x 2/3. A great set for parts (see (URL) inv>), even if you do end up with (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-05, to lugnet.parts, lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Patterned vs Stickers

Hi, Maybe this question has been answered earlier or maybe the answer is so simple I can't see it right now : When creating a new model , how do TLC choose between producing new patterned (decorated) parts or printing stickers ? What is the (...) (20 years ago, 31-Oct-05, to lugnet.parts)

Builder's Block Crystal Lattice (Was Re: Chirality)

(...) I was contemplating the above, while I was sorting a bunch of these: (URL) So I made a couple of chiral bits: (URL) Which go together to form a roughly cubic shape and its enantiomer: (URL) Yet they also apear to be achiral if you orient them (...)   Re: What's in a part name? (WAS: 4679 Fall Spring Cleaning Bonus)

(...) You don't think it's a good idea to rename slopes? ;) But I agree with you, it's not a bad alternate name for them. In the Brickopedia I tried to find a balance between taxonomically correct labels and groupings/names that made sense from a (...) (20 years ago, 17-Sep-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: What's in a part name? (WAS: 4679 Fall Spring Cleaning Bonus)

(...) Yes, exactly. (...) I wasn't seriously suggesting we try to rename slopes. But bevel would be so much more ... taxonimetrical. (...) We shoulda just stuck with "Roof tile" -- to be extra confusing. (...) Ooo. Good guess. But it was actually (...) (20 years ago, 16-Sep-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: What's in a part name? (WAS: 4679 Fall Spring Cleaning Bonus)

(...) I will admit to being a big UNfan of acronyms, so I steer clear of using them, much less creating new ones. :) (...) Very good to know. (...) Ah ok, I see. :) Thanks for those links.   Re: What's in a part name? (WAS: 4679 Fall Spring Cleaning Bonus)

(...) IMHO, studs make sense more than knobs because of terms such "studless" or "SNOT"....knobs will lead to knobless and "KNOT". (...) In french, tiles are named "plaques lisses" (smooth plates)...but even more commonly "tiles". (...) Sorry. This (...) (20 years ago, 16-Sep-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: What's in a part name? (WAS: 4679 Fall Spring Cleaning Bonus)

(...) Back to my childhood: They are bumps. One bumper, two bumper, four bumper (I never had any three bumpers when I named them) are 1x bricks. (...) One bumper center plate!   Re: What's in a part name? (WAS: 4679 Fall Spring Cleaning Bonus)

(...) I *think* that "knobs" may be more common in the U.K. but I could be very wrong. It would be interesting to hear from someone who uses the term (if anyone) and know where they are. I know at least one reference to it, and it was one made by (...) (20 years ago, 15-Sep-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)
