  Re: Tyre (tire) nomenclature

(...) Point taken - thanks. (...) The curious case of 33029 was discussed here (URL) with a good argument to stick with "system scale" for Scala parts. (...) Chris (19 years ago, 30-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.parts)

  Re: Tyre (tire) nomenclature

(...) (ahem) That might work better with crossposting to, say, lugnet.parts or lugnet.cad.dat.parts, instead of hiding the discussion in .cad. . . (...) To clarify: that includes "local" units, i.e., stud and brick height measurements are relative (...) (19 years ago, 30-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.parts)

Re: LEGO Name Badge Kit with 1x1 Printed Tiles

(...) I suspect that the new smaller prints are less susceptible to printing errors. The more space around the letter the less tiles will have the writing snipped at the edge so you waste less of them. Tim (19 years ago, 24-Apr-06, to lugnet.parts)

Re: LEGO Name Badge Kit with 1x1 Printed Tiles

(...) Unfortunately, and inexplicably, TLG redesigned the pattterns for all of these tiles, so these are different parts.[1] (URL) the letters on the newer tiles (from set 4294192) seem consistently smaller than those in set 4677 and most seem (...)   New track mod: 10-stud-curve

My first track mod was the now fairly common point with a 2-curve side-branch. I'd always wanted to do the opposite - to move the track over with just curves. Now I can, thanks to this little piece; a 10-stud curve: (URL) to Gallery>> <- click for (...) (19 years ago, 23-Apr-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)

  Re: 3747 - 2006 new variant

(...) No. That does not work. I've been able to find only one functional difference (improvement) you can clearly see here : (URL) That square limit how deep, Technic bushes for instance, can be "studded"; preventing it also to be "angled". (...) (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.parts, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: 3747 - 2006 new variant

(...) Is this a functional difference? It looks like something (a 1x1 cone, maybe?) should be able to stud into the center of that square. The only 2006 sets I have with part 3747 (7893 and 6205) have the older version. (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.parts)

  3747 - 2006 new variant

(URL) (from (URL)) The injection point is on the underside tube, not in the side flat surface (more and more, TLC seems to place injection points on the top of studs) (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: 9V Train Motor Being Discontinued?

(...) AFAIK you can't (this type of order can be placed "everywhere" in europe but is not publicized by TLC and you have to know LEGO item numbers - the ones you can see in the BOM at the end of some 2006 BIs) . Anyway, I'm afraid the Electric 2x4 (...) (19 years ago, 28-Mar-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic, lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: possibly your last chance for custom track

(...) Ondrew - what would be required to do a one-lane step to the side? That is, to move over 16 studs as if going through one of those crossovers, but just using curve/straight/parallelogram sections? All your examples include points, but my best (...)   possibly your last chance for custom track

To all, I am currently gearing up to start a new career and I may not have time to make parts in the near future so I thought now would be a good time to let you know. If you have ever thought of purchasing custom track now's the time. I may not (...) (19 years ago, 15-Mar-06, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)

  Re: curved roof element ideas

(...) Hey mat, I understand your question about manufacturing parts and here's my take on it. BBB wheels were made because TLC basically refused to do it. Now the reason fans have embraced BBB wheels is because there weren’t any alternatives. I.E. (...) (19 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: curved roof element ideas

(...) Maybe your right, I'm not in a hurry either way. Mat (19 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)

  Re: curved roof element ideas

(...) Excellent idea, Rosco! Mat, I'd go this way and save the time and effort for a different alteration that can't be solved as easily. JOHN (19 years ago, 7-Mar-06, to lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)

  Re: curved roof element ideas

(...) No problem, as for parts modding. I'm well down that slope. I've been known to cut a brick or plate to get a needed smaller version, I.E. a 1x1 brick in dark orange, and making custom 9v train track. My first mod was drilling holes to wire up (...)   Re: curved roof element ideas

(...) You probably dont' even need jumper plates, as the 1x3 roof bricks can just be placed at 1/2 stuf offset on standard placed studs. ROSCO (19 years ago, 7-Mar-06, to lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)

  Re: curved roof element ideas

(...) I apologize for leading this thread into yet another width debate; I was kidding around, but there is a portion of seriousness there that may merit consideration. I have cut some parts in my day, but only when there simply was no other viable (...) (19 years ago, 7-Mar-06, to lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)

  Re: curved roof element ideas

(...) While a response is appreciated, I was looking for feedback on part ideas, not dogma regarding how wide I build my trains. 8) I am considering have custom parts made, or at least some prototypes. Mat (19 years ago, 7-Mar-06, to lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)

  Re: curved roof element ideas

(...) Or just build the whole train seven-wide and don't worry about the jumper plates ;) Tim (19 years ago, 7-Mar-06, to lugnet.parts.custom, FTX)
