  Re: Cost of Brickfest

(...) ...We hope to pick a weekend soon (current target is 3rd weekend in june, aka June 15-17, but don't hold me to it (still exhausted and recovering)). But the sooner we post it and the more we shill it, the more likely people will be able to (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

(...) My expenses were: $140 or so, rental of an Isuzu Trooper for 3 days (it's amazing how much you can pack into a trooper, only a few of the locals brought the same order of magnitude of volume of stuff as I brought) $75 or so for gas (travelling (...) (...) And I'm sure it was worth every penny of it. I fall under the 'really pressed for cash' section, and was fortunate to have a friend pay for my transportation and put me up at his house. Having a local put you up is definitely the way to go for (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

  Re: Cost of Brickfest

(...) A K-8 is the box TLC uses to supply LEGO parts to the play tables and for events. It's about 18" x 30" x 15" or something like that, filled with bricks. Apparently they stock them by dumping parts from returned sets, manufacturing left overs, (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

(...) ...A huge pile of fun! just a big ol box of parts that we begged LEGO to send us for the fest and they were polite enuf to do so :-) (maybe they felt guilty since they couldn't come themselves to this internationally recognized fest (I'm sure (...)   Re: Cost of Brickfest

Very cool, I didn't know they had particular box for stocking the play tables. That would be a cool thing for LEGO Direct to sell, you'd never really know what you're going to get. That would kind of add to the excitement, then you could trade off (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

  Re: Cost of Brickfest

(...) ...yes! I would easily pay $250 for a box or maybe more if I could at least open it first. The stuff in it is sometimes _great!_. (...) ...Ha!!! Us WAMALUG folks already thought of that!!!   Re: Cost of Brickfest

(...) Gosh, you have no idea. For starters, it's amazng how inspiring it is to sit in front of a huge pile of STUFF and just BUILD without thinking about it. I did that for about 2 hours on Sat. night, I think, and I came up with some very weird (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

  Re: Cost of Brickfest

(...) Oops, correction on the gas price... It was more like $50, partially due to needing to fill up in DC at $1.60 something per gallon (v.s. $1.47 or so at home). (24 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

(...) Same here. I had $60 worth of SW sets waiting for me at the fest (thanks, Jeff!!), which was actually more like $240 worth... :-) So I restrained myself to a 70 bucks buy at the Store. I would've gotten more if my wallet hadn't been (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)
