Again my initial thoughts are a 10'x10' table for our first show.  (If we • go
crazy with scenery maybe more but I would rather have a smaller setup that • is
packed full of stuff than have a huge setup that is sparcely populated with
stuff).  Of course there is some expense to the tables and a skirt for the
table.  I am willing to contribute a fair amount to this but I would like

Good idea.

I guess thats one thing... If people could inventory their train stuff no
matter how little it is we can then figure out how short we are in terms of
track.  Also for those of you buying up SnowBlowers for the raidar dishes • if
you could figure out how many Trucks (sets of train wheels) and Boggie • plates
(basically a 4x6 tile with a peg in the middle) you have then we can have • an
idea of how many cars we can build for the train.

Regarding a layout in general, my opinion would be to go GMLTC style with
the modules (3 48x48 baseplates by 2 in area, build up the modules 26 studs
high I believe.  That's a TON of bricks (I've helped work on a project of
that scale before) but its well worth the effect that you get.  Though for
this show I understand you're trying to start something quick, but if
there's ever a serious NELTC or something to that effect in the area, GMLTC
style is the way to go.

(...) Well I think there is a reason why the GMLTC is the only group doing a layout like this. They are the only ones with 2.1 million bricks to work with. Personally I don't think we would come remotely close to that many if you took all of our (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jul-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)
