  Barriers for GATS

Hello Everyone, I did some pricing on barriers this weekend. Post and rope barrier rental: $12 a day or $24 a week per post. $3 a day or $6 a week per 8' rope. (clip on type) I found some posts for sale at about $75 each, ouch! From what I have (...) (23 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: Barriers for GATS

(...) I was thinking the plexi-glass might be a good idea. We could put up the plexi-glass up then go off of that to make the base plates strait. Then connect the base plates one row at a time. Hmmm? The only thing is the glass might get dirty. (...) (23 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

Steve & All, (...) Man, so it is around 100 ~ 150 a show? Yikes, where did you find that at? Maybe I will check down here and see if it is any cheaper. (...) Yes. : ( (...) That might work too. Scott S. -- (23 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: Barriers for GATS

(...) Looks like it. 12 a day per post is a lot!!! for a 32x20 area with posts every 8 feet around the perimiter that is 16 or so posts... boatloads of money. (...) Is plexi available cheaply? Maybe the reason people go barrier free is not because (...) (23 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

(...) (Crossposted to .org.us.nelug for archive purposes) Here is a quick suggestion that NELUG has considered for making our own posts that is actually relatively cheap. (Note: we have not done this yet because many of us, myself included, like the (...) (23 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

(...) Not to butt in on y'alls conversation, but I can give a bit of insight into the barrier situation that we had with the NGLTC layout. For the first few shows we used home made barriers, these were made from the old style LEGO buckets. I took a (...) (23 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

I believe that you are forgetting the time the kid put his head on the track and the train hit him in the face!!! How could that one have possibly been my fault? (...) (23 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

(...) Oh sorry, I thought you pushed him ;-). I guess the girl that nearly lost a couple fingers when they got run over probably wasn't your fault either. Just remember your train hasn't crashed once with me at the controls. As soon as you put your (...) (23 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

(...) Wow, that's some pretty expensive glass. We here at the NGLTC picked up pre-cut 12"x24" 1/8" plexiglass sheets from Home Depot for just at $3.00 each. They're great since we can pretty much use them with any layout shape (as long as the (...) (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)
