Amy & All,

If there is serious interest and enough people to pull it off, I'll tell
Tammy, the con chair. Anyone else interested? Chris has already said he
won't be able to do much planning for Confusion, so someone else would need
to take the lead on that.

Well, I am sure we can work something out. Ideas?

I did have a small question, what is the difference in names...
Contraption vs. Confusion?

I've been told that Confusion, which is sponsored by the Ann Arbor science
fiction club Stilyagi, is about twice the size of Confusion, and the con chair
told me she can get us about twice the space we had, in a location that'll
likely get us more traffic. The closed room was really cool, though, and I
don't know if we can get that again.

Here's the URL for Confusion...

http://www.stilyagi.org/cons/confusion.html

and for Stilyagi...

Warning: Costumes play a much greater role at Confusion, and I've told
Stilyagi people so many times that I might do a Xena costume that I might
actually have to do it this year :-)

Right, well, rest assured I will not be wearing any costumes!

Hey Scott,

My thoughts. Oh no not Tony! I was thinking of the GR display. If we took
out Chris’s airport and put a military base there. We took out Steve’s train
yard and put a ship landing platforms there. We would have a passenger
train, a freight train and a monorail. We could use your new train station
next to the ship landing area and come up with some docks for the military
base and try to build some train garages. I’m not sure if Steve will
participate but we could use his. We need loading docks from ships to
trains. Maybe some other stuff. I don’t know who is panning to attend but I
think we can pull this off. We need Chris’s downtown buildings, Jason’s
factory; the fast food strip would be nice. I hope we will have people to
make filler buildings for the empty spaces. I don’t thing some of the train
people will attend the space thing. I think we need to know who is willing
to attend. The new members are more than welcome to help out in both layouts.

Amy

Dose everyone have to dress up in a costume to attend this. I don’t have a
problem with it but it might shy away some members. I want to dress up as a
Viking anyway. But some others might not want to do this. Clear this up so
we will be able to know who will be attending.

To All,

I think there defiantly needs to be a commitment to attend this. We need
special building for the space display and we need people willing to make
some stuff. Please Please Please Please let us know if this display is a go.
We might be able to shrink the space display if everyone will think it’s too
much for two weekends in a row. Please again let us know who is willing to
attend the space display. Ideas are welcome.

(...) If there was a monorail track, we could use the 6990 and 6991 monorail trains, they're pretty futuristic. I would say that all of Amy's buildings are futuristic as well. Further I would posit my bullet train as being at least slightly (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)
