You will see now we can have bridges..

Wayne, you forgot one major detail:  due to the physical table layout, the
bridge gap will have to be offset if we use 5 tables.  Oh--it looks like you
are using only 4 tables in this plan.

Nate Jacobs mentioned a few posts back that he is building a BURP mountain that
is also a train tunnel.  I told him that it should be strong enough to support
itself so that could be used to span a gap in tables (would be reinforced with
a thin board, piece of wall paneling, cardboard, etc).  From the pictures he
has given us so far, it is hard for me to know how it will turn out.  He talks
about it here --> http://news.lugnet.com/org/us/lucny/?n=462  But depending
upon where the downspouts for the water are, it might not look right if the
water just poured out into nowhere.

Now, about this use of 4 tables with a gap--I like it.  In fact, I would love
it even more if table #5 were added to either the top right hand or top left
hand corner.  The outer train track can be routed through this new
neighborhood.  Result:  more space for buildings -- like my airport with hotel
if I ever build them; heavy industrial like oil refinery or gravel yard;
residential; a lake; or Nate's western fort and civil war battle re-enactment.
A little-used siding could also be here, but I am thinking along the lines of
more actual space for structures.

In fact, six tables could be used.  But these are ideas better left for far off
in the future, perhaps.

(...) Hey, Im working on a 30x60 module that could easily be added to the layout (though no train attachment) for shows when Im out there and able. This is along the same idea as what you were thinking, I believe. Its a simple collection of some (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.us.lucny)
