0. Find out who's interested in helping and how much help (and • of what
type can we expect).

I'm interested, and can provide track, buildings, rolling stock,
van transport, setup, teardown, presence during some of the day.
However this all depends on which show as I am away for the TTOS
show (see below).

1. What show...

These are the upcoming show dates:

Sat Apr 7 / Sun Apr 8        White Rock Railroad Show
Sun Apr 8                        NMRA PNR 7th Division,
Mid Vancouver Island Model Railway Show, Nanaimo
Sun June 24                    South Surrey Railroad Celebration
& Swapmeet
Art Knapp Plantland, Surrey
July 31 - Aug 5th            Toy Train Operating Society National
Convention, Richmond
(These guys invited us when we were at the show in Nov, it will
be a BIG
show as it's their National Convention.)
Sun Sept 9th                Victoria Model Railway Show
Nov 9 - 12 (main show on Sun 11th)    Trains 2001, Burnaby
Nov 32 - 25            Abbotsford Model Railroad Historical
Society

I can't make the TTOS convention show :-( I will be way on
vacation, but it would be a great one to do I can supply
buildings, track, stock for it. I am contemplating getting a
vendor stall at the Trains 2001 show to sell my kits and whatever
lego train sets I can get hold of, but I would still be able to
help with most of the work.

2. How big do we want the table and what layout?

How about aim for about 12'x15'. That's a little less than double
what we had last time so not unreasonable to aim for, and gives
us space for a continuous run(s) with operator space in teh
centre. I came up with a table layout a while back which looked
like this (monospaced font required)

+-----------------+----------------+
|                 |                |
|                 |                |
+-----+-----+-----+----------+-----+----------+
|     |     |                |                |
|     |     |                | ==             |
|     |     |                +-==-------------+
|     |     |                  ==
|     |     |                  ==
|     |     |                +-==-------------+
|     |     |                | ==             |
|     |     |                |                |
+-----+-----+----------------+----------------+
|                 |                |
|                 |                |
+-----------------+----------------+

This uses 8 approx 90x30 tables (or equivalent 30x30 and 60x60)
and gives us a continuous run (using a duckunder bridge indicated
by == on the drawing, that could be a nice big spectacular
bridge), the entrance to the operator space is protected, there's
a wide space at one end for elaborate building area, and two
tables at the other end with sitting space between for yakking to
viewers, showing catalogs and set boxes, etc (we used that table
a LOT last time!). Layout space about 13' by 15' plus the catalog
tables.

3. How do we provide the tables.

James offered some extra PNLTC ones, will yours be available
Dean? Anyone else able to build/store some?
One idea is to use our $$ to buy some knock-down trestle kits
plus 2x4's to make trestles the right height to support 30" x 80"
cheap doors. Theese could match height and width to the PNLTC
tables, be relatively easy to store (I could store one) and be
cheap.

(...) Otherwise, I am reasonably sure PNLTC would loan tables, but we'd have to go and collect from Seattle (and return)-at least, most likely. If you have a actual show planned, please let me know, because I will put it onto the PNLTC mailing list (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Ok, here are the items we need to work out. 0. Find out who's interested in helping and how much help (and of what type can we expect). 1. What show... 2.
