Lego Studio Steven Spielberg Moviemaker set Review

My first impressions of the (1349) Lego Studio Steven Spielberg Moviemaker set. (As of this date there is no Newsgroup for this type of set. Cross posted to lugnet.robotics.vc) Purchased at Toys R Us for $250 Canadian. First, let me say that I used (...)   Re: Money - budget for train show stuff - sponsorship

(...) That sounds good to me. Kevin (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Money - budget for train show stuff - sponsorship

(...) I made a suggestion a while back that we have a freestanding display panel behind us (eg a 4x8 sheet of pegboard on a simple frame of 1x2's with plywood triangle "feet" to make it stand up). This would give us somehere to display signs, Lego (...) (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Money - budget for train show stuff - sponsorship

Dean and I will aquire the fabric as we have wanted to do so for a while. We've no problem paying for this and retaining the fabric as ours but using it for the club as well. This should bring the communal cost down a tad. Unless the club wants its (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Re: VLC Sign

An interim sign would be a good idea until we are firm on a logo. Robin, I agree you should be reimbursed for your supplies. Basic foamcore is available at Staples or Office Depot for relatively cheap. I'd offer to get some but my hands are (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Logo's Fliers and papers and CONTACT

Robin, I've sent you the word file with the early fliers. Rather than posting a phone number, I think we should have a mail in card, or the back of the flier (with our URL for those who have Internet access) basically saying: "Send $1 to cover cost (...)   Re: Logo's Fliers and papers

(...) We really should put down a contact phone number. Not all Lego Fan's have Internet... Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Re: VLC Sign

(...) I will find out what this will cost us. If we wanted to go really cheap, I could simply print out sections of the logo on my inkjet on 8 1/2" x 11" sheets. I could then line them up and paste them onto foamcore. If we did this, I wouldn't mind (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Money - budget for train show stuff - sponsorship

(...) I'm not sure what you mean by this. What is the difference between a "Sign" and a "Display panel", or are you basically referring to having two "signs", one in front, one in back? (...) I would have no problem with this. However, even by your (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Money - budget for train show stuff - sponsorship

I think we ought to work out how much this is going to cost us... Sign $20 - $200 Fabric for table tops and skirts $20 - $40 Photocopying fliers etc $10 - $20 Display panel for behind layout (??) $20-$25 I have a suggestion. Lions Gate Models (me (...)   Re: VLC Sign

(...) Do we really want to spend this much right now, considering I didn't think we'd completely settled on the logo? Could we not get a biggish printout on paper (say 2-3ft long) and mount it on a piece of foamcore? Kevin ---...--- Personal Lego (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  I got pieces ...

Well, I finally got sick and tired of not having my Lego near me, so I raced over to our storage unit, hauled everything out, and dragged all my Lego crates out from the VERY BACK of the unit. I now have them all here, and have access to all my (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Re: Logo and Sign

(...) Alex, just a reminder ... ;-) All I really need is an ftp username and password to upload and download to the VLC site. Email me when you have such. Robin (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  VLC Sign

I've done some checking around. To start with, I assumed we would try to get a sign that was roughly 2 ft x 8 ft, that we could use either up on a wall (ie. behind the display), or hanging down in front of the display along the table skirt. The (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Re: Logo's Fliers and papers

(...) I think that all we need is a simple 1/3 page (3 5/8" x 8 1/2") flyer with the logo, some simple copy talking about Lego trains and other themes, the club being an ADULT fan club, the usual TLC disclaimers, and the web site URL. No names, (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Logo's Fliers and papers

Re: Info from Train SHow organisers

(...) Ugg, that sucks eh? They really should have told us that. Since that's an odd display type. (2 long, 1 short) I do hope they find us a better place. Man. No easy way to defend a layout like that... I guess we should have been more firm on our (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

  Re: Blue Tubs

(...) [At WalMart] (...) Ditto here in Windsor, Ontario..., $17.88. Wicked deal when you figure the tub itself is probably worth about 6 bux, so the LEGO only costs 12 bucks for 1200 pieces..., a penny each! KDJ ___...___ Kyle D. Jackson, LUGNETer (...)   Info from Train SHow organisers

Just had a call from the guy who's in charge of venue space at the train show. He's having trouble juggling space and asked if we could do our 8'x8' layout instead of teh 16'x6': I said no, not at this point. That's OK, however during the (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)
