Um, Ivan -
I thought I mentioned that I had a fully functional Java driver for the
Control Lab.
I use 2 dos windows (one to run "java Test", the other "javac
Test.java") and a text window.
For the record, I use TextPad, not Notepad. It has syntax
highlighting. BTW, EDIT (from a third dos prompt?) works fine, too.
I dunno, doesn't get much simpler than that.
For the record, the CL is notoriously finicky about its connection.
When the "STOP" light turns off, it has established commo with the PC.
You are correct, it is not handshaking.
Try wiggling the wires. I forget whether the cable is null modem or
not. Try both. Wiggle the wires again. Switch to COM2, then switch
back. This happens to me from time to time, and I know for a fact that
the CL is fully functional.
Once you get the wires working, you'll have no further problem.
Oh - yeah, try power-cycling the CL between serial port wire wiggles.
Pull the power cord, let it power down, re-attach the power cable.

| Hey now! I might be a quiet lurker, but I'm still here watching and listening, <evil voice> *always* =)) Well, since I really don't have much to add about BF or taunting SH, so I'll just hijack this thread to some other topic. :) Is anyone else as (...)
