We do have two modules right now that are not officially spoken for--one on
each side of the dam.

The one above the dam could be spoken for, version 2 of my dam, has been
designed to the proper module specs, (no more 97 stud lengths), as part of
the dam design I was going to build two half modules that would be placed on
either side of the dam to support it, see
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=307719
for a Lego example.

If the fire station is some distance from Altenburg, it might fit in ok, in
that the perspective between the two areas may seem normal.

Now we had guest buildings on them for the last train show, but if we're
doing this NMRA thing in July, are we going to count on 'guest' buildings or
are we going to incorporate those two mods completely into the rest of the
layout?

I have another small hope--I'd like to have my firestation incorporated into
the layout--the problem is, you've seen how big it is (though I did rebuild
it smaller).  Is this kosher with everyone or is it just a wee bit too
large? (to be said, technically it is half the width as the train station,
but the tower--is quite high)

Just wondering.

(...) Hey, this makes me think we could make a 2 wide version of the Altenburg layout. Much more protable. :-) Derek (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) We've got to be a little careful with scale. The American LTCs often have this incredibly overscaled buildings which dominate the layout--like a four module gas station or a six module church. That's insane. Best thing to do is to bring it to (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
