    It's the oddest thing... —David Koudys
   So I've been running a website from my home fornumerous years now- First I used a Compaq DeskPro 2000 P 150 system with Win98 and Personal Web Services running, thinking it wouldn't get alotta traffic. It's the Apache process--the actual server still chugs along with nary an issue--Apache just stops--yet there's no sign of said stoppage in Event Viewer or Task Manager Further, using Apache Monitor, Apache Monitor says it's still running, and (...) That doesn't sound like hardware. so I'm thinking either Apache 2.xx doesn't like Win2K server edition, or the new (...) No, I don't honestly think it's the (...)       (...) Nope--there are just no requests logged at a certain time, then I restart Apache and all the Apache startup requests are logged.      (...) Is it possible that the network or stack/driver went out during that time you have no logs? Can you keep ping logs to somewhere outside of the cable provider network, maybe?      I'm running Apache 2.0.52 on Win2K Pro just fine. Here's a guess: you mentioned that you're running 2K SERVER... any chance that the OS runs IIS by default and Apache is fighting for possesion of port 80?       (...) I don't think Apache would ever be able to get the port period if IIS was in there. It's a possibility. Microsoft got all weird around Windows 2000, trying to make everything done through the web server. (...) Don't get me started on that :) (...)      (...) Hi Mario! Glad to see you're posting again! When I installed W2K Server, I made sure that IIS wasn't part of the installation.    (...) Thanks for the info and the help, Jamie It's been pretty smooth the last 2 days, so i'll let it go for now. Worst case, I haul out the old deskpro and turn it on again.
