(...) IT (...) Sure... but like, if you start going up a steep hill, you downshift to a lower gear. It becomes intuative, like riding a bike. (...) That's a good idea... but you can also shift by noise :) My friend's first car was an older Ford Ranger pickup, with a manual, and no tach. (...) IIRC the 2004 Phaeton will ship with a 6 speed manual in some markets. The W8 Passat, which uses a derivative of the W12 (two less cylinders per side, or a dual VR4) already ships in a 6 speed manual. Both are very quiet cars. I asked someone (...)
