  Re: 12 x 886 Space Buggy

(...) That is wild. I'm always amazed at the large, deceptive scale...wonderful. Cheers, -Gil (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 12 x 886 Space Buggy

Derek: At dinner when you showed everybody your big set, I will begrudgingly admit that it was kind-a cool. good job. although a robot would have been a better use for those gears. (smirk) Chris p.s. i still think your a freak for doing it. (unless (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 12 x 886 Space Buggy

(...) Wow, this is supremely cool. I love how every brick has all of its details shown built in, like the studs and the stud holes on the undersides of each brick, and your minifig is very well done indeed. Adrian (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 12 x 886 Space Buggy

(...) I wanna see a supersized 6973. Course there isnt enough trans-fluro-orange on the planet to do that :) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 12 x 886 Space Buggy

(...) <wipes tear of nostalgia from eye> A fitting tribute to the one that started it all. That, along with 885* were the first space set I ever received. Was that really 25 years ago? yoiks! Well done. Allister * any chance of supersizing 885 as (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 12 x 886 Space Buggy

(...) Simply amazing, Derek. When we first saw it at dinner, I think we were ALL blown away, robot and train fans alike. Like you, I was also a big Classic Space fan too! (URL) one time violation of the shoebox rule (grr) was well worth it. :) Calum (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Cool. Now if only LEGO would do a similar thing with the soft Dacta bricks :-) Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

  Re: 12X 886 Space Buggy

That is INCREDIBLE! I love that way that each giant piece is a separate part. The giant "mini"fig alone would be great. Combined with the buggy, it's just awesome. (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  12 x 886 Space Buggy

With next year being the 25 anniversary of Lego Space I wanted to build a tribute to this great theme. I chose one of the original Classic Space sets, the 886 Space Buggy and built it 12 times larger. See it at my first MOCpages page: (URL) must say (...)   Re: Hobby Show Approaches (was:Re: train6 Layout request)

(...) Good news. Thanks for the update. (...) This is very good news! I will add you to the 'attending' list. Saturday is actually the day I'm worried least about, since obviously most who are attending have said Sat is good, with Fri and Sun being (...)   Re: Hobby Show Approaches (was:Re: train6 Layout request)

(...) Hey Allen, The gang is comming over to my place today to discuss the hobby show layout and the train 6 layout. FYI I should be able to be there for all four days (perhaps not the full day on Saturday) But I can help with setup. (I'll be (...) (21 years ago, 19-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Unusual sets: 8376/4400 in Canada

(...) I'm not sure if I've helped or I've hindered: (URL) colour balance is really off due to the flash. I disabled the flash but those pictures' colour temperature is very reddish, so short of sitting around for several hours readjusting colour, (...)   Re: Unusual sets: 8376/4400 in Canada

(...) Aw, that sucks! The third output is like a little dream feature they put in-back when we got the 5600, everyone said, "Boy, this sucks!" and listed off all the features they really wanted: Modular motors, RC receiver, steering servo, removable (...)   Re: Unusual sets: 8376/4400 in Canada

(...) Thanks for the news Calum! However, the 8376 has one key difference from the 8475 (not 8375): (URL) it doesn't have the auxiliary 3rd output on the receiver. Instead, the paddles on the bottom of the transmitter are used to get the car to do a (...) (21 years ago, 19-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Unusual sets: 8376/4400 in Canada

The 8376 RC Racer Radio Shack Exclusive is in Canadian Radio Shacks for $119.00. It looks like it has many of the key RC components of the 8375 for about 33% cheaper. The 4589 Nitro Flash (The IR racer) is $38 at Walmart. The receiver/motor/steering (...) (21 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Hobby Show Approaches (was:Re: train6 Layout request)

(...) I’m not sure (Chris, correct me if I’m wrong), but, I thought I heard Calum, Jeff, Derek and Dave discussing trains in general and finally coming to the realization that continued involvement in that area was just silly. I’m pretty sure that (...) (21 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Hobby Show Approaches (was:Re: train6 Layout request)

Not to sound like a pain in the butt... but, I do need to hear from the last of you (you know who you are) that haven't confirmed your participation in the show. If you (...)   Re: final rules.

(...) Couldn't you achieve the same end result by using just one sensor port? And signal EoT by changing the port from Passive to Active and back? (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) Do the control labs have 2 inputs and 2 outputs? Can you just hook one in & out together, and say that is the signal line for one robot? (then do the same for the other?) Then, when one signal is received, the control lab sends out a signal on (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
