ya know what would be cool.......

if i could post and read lugnet like I used to BEFORE that dumb worm virus hit. that would be cool. it would also be neat if my wife would not lay a guilt trip on me so I can reply to posts as they appear. UNLIKE doing it on the following business (...) (21 years ago, 22-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

For those that couldn't make it...

to my housewarming party--I finally got pics of my abode up on my website. You'd think that if taking pictures and posting 'em on the internet is one of my favourite hobbies, I'd have done this sooner, but, eh, whatrya gonna do? Anyways, see pics of (...)   Re: Connect 4 Boards

Quoting Derek Raycraft <djr@rogers.com>: (...) I believe the rules say "Decide who goes first". (21 years ago, 22-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Connect 4 Boards

(...) That's what I feared. I know there are at least two colours of boards (one that's all blue with red and yellow chips, and one with blue and yellow with red and black chips) and now I guess there's different chips too. Aaargh. (...) That sounds (...) (21 years ago, 22-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Connect 4 Boards

(...) Well I have no knowledge of what the tradition for red vs. black is, so my suggestion is just arbitrary. Now that I think about it, maybe the Connect 4 rules say which colour goes first. If they do, that's the colour we should go by. Derek (21 years ago, 22-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Connect 4 Boards

(...) Actually, that brings up a question I meant to ask. Does the bot need to know what color it's playing, or can I tell it (via download/IR) what color we're playing in this match? (21 years ago, 22-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Connect 4 Boards

(...) Sounds good. The board we've been playing with has the chips that lock together. (...) Huh. I was always taught in a red vs black game, that "Smoke goes before fire". But you're the 2nd person to say that red goes first, maybe Mom was wrong?! (...) (21 years ago, 22-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Connect 4 Boards

Well I discovered over the weekend that there are two different types of connect 4 pieces. My parents happened to have two boards, each with a different style of chip. Fortunately both chip styles are the same basic size, shape and colour. One type, (...) (21 years ago, 22-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

LAST call for applicants. I've received a few real honest reply's, (above the usual abuse I get here) I've already selected a "new to lego" C programmer who works for ATI.   Re: What is shaping up to be the most posted-on rtl event in the history of rtl events....

(...) This just shows how spiffily different we all are... The programming used in X seems fairly straighforward (conceptually) to me... just scan the board to see what's there and put things from where they ain't supposed to be to where they is. (...)   Re: What is shaping up to be the most posted-on rtl event in the history of rtl events....

(...) You have to think it out a bit how to structure the program as a set of loops. This is compounded by some oft he limtiations of the RCX firmware. I think the basic one is, very roughly: Imagine all the squares in a line. 16x1 array. Make an (...) (21 years ago, 19-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
