  Re: project x

(...) Hey, Vineet... There's this thing, it's really wild... it's called the internet. Have you heard of it? You should check it out! And, get this... rtlToronto has a website, believe it or not, on this internet thing. Isn't that exciting? I think (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Guys- The next Lego RTL meeting, will it be the day before the 13th? On another topic, could anyone explain to me if it is possible to configure the touch sensors in such a way that one tap would turn the motor one way, and another tap would turn (...) Vince The Nookan- I am planing a trip to France. Can you please tell me what statues are the best ones to see, and where I can find the minature elephants. I heard that my hamster will enjoy the trip to France. (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Don't move I dropped a brick on the floor....

(...) drive for 10 (...) I'd argue that you're using a bad design if a critical system on your machine is open-loop and relies on timing. You can't blame that on an unreliable power source - your machine should be able to operate reliably under all (...) (21 years ago, 25-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Don't move I dropped a brick on the floor....

(...) What a maroon! I only said that to help strengthen the case for AC. And yeah, you’d be nuts to have an RCX with no batteries in it...one blip and its no operating system and no program. And then the worst calamity of all...having Calum yelling (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Don't move I dropped a brick on the floor....

(...) Bruce pointed out that the way he builds, he does not use foresight and plan to have easy access to his RCX. I like to use more motors than is necessary, so I like the AC. as well, it allows a person to use time, as a way to control things, (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Don't move I dropped a brick on the floor....

(...) Might I jump in here too? I don't have an AC enabled RCX so I'm stuck with battery power. But its not that terrible is it? I usually use rechargable alkalines. And then I put in fresh batteries on game day. For project X the energizer (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Chris- What was 'project x'? (21 years ago, 24-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Don't move I dropped a brick on the floor....

(...) On the few occasions when we agree, I always end up questioning my position. (21 years ago, 24-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Don't move I dropped a brick on the floor....

(...) I think those guys are freaks from some other planet. Clearly they have access to some sort of "super battery technology" that the rest of use can not access. LOOK, I have a few motors -- much like project X. (over 8) and if my robot is (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Don't move I dropped a brick on the floor....

(...) This is bound to be a multiple RCX contest. Having to keep fresh batteries for testing and the actual events is a pain (sometimes access to the RCX can be difficult). We could say that if you are having a contest with a robot that does (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Don't move I dropped a brick on the floor....

(...) Yeah, sure you do. I won't take the excuse you can't afford the batteries, that's too lame. But if there's a good excuse, ie, you need the power/current, then that's another story. Bruce and you complain about AC power every contest. What do (...) (21 years ago, 24-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Don't move I dropped a brick on the floor....

Re: Don't move I dropped a brick on the floor....

(...) Finally, some talk about robots! I too wouldn't mind using AC power. How about if we say that the power cord can only extend directly from the side of the playfield to your robot and that you can't drag any part of the cord into the rice area. (...)
