  Re: August 11

Have they booked a reception room? Would they consider a library? Think of it this way.... Marriages (these days) don't seem to last forever. Memories of Train 2 will.... It's not a tough choice. Matthias Jetleb VA3-MWJ (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: RIS 1.5 at TRU in Canada

(...) I saw 3 copies left in my local (St. Catharines) Toys R US..."regular priced" at 199.99 ....I thought they would reduce the price before the RCX 2.0 were to come out.... Or connect one half of the connector to each rail in question (provided they are close enough, of course), and take an additional short Lego wire and "short" it - that is, connect it to itself at a 90-degree angle - and clip it on top of the (...)   Re: Aaargh. L272 IC needed.

(...) One small savings possible is that you do NOT need to jumper the outside rails! (think about it, they run through) So you can get away with a track power connector that connects to just the two inner rails... depending on whether you have more (...)   Re: Aaargh. L272 IC needed.

(...) Not sure I agree. I left traditional MR because I prefer the resiliency of the brick and don't have a lot of interest in soldering any more... (...)   Track slope issues for Train2

Earlier there was some discussion about locomotives slipping (or possibly magnets disengaging) on steep slopes. My max slopes are as follows: Outer mainline: 1ppt Inner mainline: 2ppt Siding: 3ppt (1 brick per track) Right now I have a Locomotive (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: modules and update

I'll throw in my current status, too: I've got the materials for my 3 & 2-half modules, and they're cut to size, but I haven't assembled them yet. I've built the landscape (the hard part) for two of my three main modules, plus the two train (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aaargh. L272 IC needed.

Having built a number of non-DCC reversing loops, I can tell you it's pretty straightforward to jumper using track power leads, as Larry suggests. It can get pricey if you're buying them from S@H, but I expect most trainheads have more leads and (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aaargh. L272 IC needed.

  Re: Aaargh. L272 IC needed.

(...) I wonder if there is a way to cheat? That is, use track connectors to jumper the power to the unpowered rail. I have to take a close look at a turnout when I get home this weekend to make sure doing that doesn't cause shorts but I don't think (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aaargh. L272 IC needed.

(...) Two things discouraged us from using something like the DN140 (IIRC) he used.   Re: Guarded Inn?

(...) There are more than you think! I've taken this concept and attached my Throwbots, with the Life on Mars T3 Trike on the end of those, and there is a classic space craft that plugs into that! OK, those aren't castle sets, but they "fit". (23 years ago, 17-Jul-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  modules and update

Ok here's the latest update from my perspective....
