  Re: Question for builders

(...) Greatly appreciated Janey, but if you wont be able to make it don't worry about it, I put together a set from different colour plates so I'll have a backup set. Vitali (19 years ago, 25-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Question for builders

(...) How's everyone else? Ummm lets just say... if I had a nickel for every bot I have built that worked at home, I would be a poor woman.... and in this case if I had a nickel for every bot I built that doesn't work... I still would be broke. (...) (19 years ago, 25-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Question for builders

(...) I hate Lego spacing. That and rounded beams. Thank you. Calum (19 years ago, 25-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Question for builders

(...) I LOVE the tank treads. MANY of my unsuccessful robots use them for the Rx games. If I recall, the bot that was more or less KING of the Hill had 3 PAIRS of tank treads. I mean, look at this GREAT pic of me, holding my WINNING robot entry. (...) (19 years ago, 25-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Question for builders

(...) I don't particularly like the treads, because they don't run as smoothly, so I don't use them much. I tried my robot with the synchro drive and its not working out for me either, so i think I'm gonna try out the adder/subtractor drive system (...)   Re: One more rule verification

(...) Okay, if you split in two, then your total score should the same as if you stayed as one. Fine by me. As long as we don't add the two together as if you had two separate robots and got to keep the sum of two unique machines. (...) I'm okay (...)   Re: One more rule verification

(...) I thought of that, but also considered that there will be many different ideas for this competition--one of them is the shell/ROV. One is the Calum'Bot which doesn't move (much). One idea was a completely contained 'bot with everything on (...) (19 years ago, 24-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: One more rule verification

(...) I think it should be scored as if it's one robot, which I believe is what you're saying. I'm not a fan of the idea of leaving a motionless shell behind. If we all did that there would be no space left to move on the field. (...) According to (...) (19 years ago, 24-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Question for builders

(...) My experiences with tracks were short lived...before I could get to the issue of lots of weight, I couldn't even get past the turn part--I found they weren't really accurate. Victor and I had tried one early on the "kBot" marble robots. It (...) (19 years ago, 24-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Question for builders

How are people's experience with those rubber tracks that come with Mindstorms kits? Can they handle alot of weight and still turn? I've seen them used in early 'obt competitons, but haven't seen much of them lately. I made a quicl little track (...) (19 years ago, 24-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
