How's everyone else doing?

How's everyone else? Ummm lets just say... if I had a nickel for every bot I
have built that worked at home, I would be a poor woman.... and in this case if
I had a nickel for every bot I built that doesn't work... I still would be
broke.

Frankly, (and watch me dance around the subject very delicately here) when I
agreed to build, I felt this competition was in jeopardy of happening due to
lack of support for the concept.

I had lined up a "building buddy" to team with since I need help as this bot is
a bit out of my "skill level".  Anyhow, since this game has gained the support I
had hoped it would and my building buddy had a totally different concept on how
to handle this problem than I do, coupled with an accident that kept me flat on
my back, and away from my Lego for a full month, my bot is a no go.

I am planning on coming down to watch and I look forward to see what solutions
you guys that are playing came up with (weather permitting) but sadly, I will be
botless... I will bring my set of red blocks incase a builder needs them and
still will bring the yellow set for Vitali.

Good luck with your builds

  Question for builders

How are people's experience with those rubber tracks that come with Mindstorms kits? Can they handle alot of weight and still turn? I've seen them used in early 'obt competitons, but haven't seen much of them lately. I made a quicl little track (...) (19 years ago, 24-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
