(...) By U Turn I mean, go to one end and return, versus drag race, which would be straight along, stop before a line/wall etc. (...) I don't want to preclude any type of solution to the game by asking users to start with an IR command. So if (...) (20 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Okay, If you're building a robot for this, followup a post with: a) One robot at a time, or races between two. (One/Two) b) On table or on floor. Understand that the floor is dirty and may not be of even colour, texture or level. (Table/Floor) c) (...) (20 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto17 Drag Racing Tentative Ruleset

Okay, whoah, flood of posts about the drag racing. My thoughts - - I thought we were going to have a finish line, a fixed, known distance, from a fowl line (in our case, the end of the table), with an unknown distance from the fowl line to the start (...) (...) The original game was described to me as: A line is placed a given distance from a wall. Two robots drag race towards the wall. The first robot to cross the line and not touch the wall wins. This is the basic contest our contest is based on. (...) (20 years ago, 27-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) The line across the table is what you use to detect that you need to stop. I'm only arguing my point from the perspective of the original game. We've already changed that by saying we have to return to the start line. If we wish to change the (...) (20 years ago, 27-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Here's the thing-- We have two tables, end to end, with a starting and finish line at the same end--the 'bot must reach the other side and then come back.
