So I'm tossing out like 12 Lego buckets (4267, 1000 piece bucket, 4105 etc) today and I wonder: Can you recycle these bad boys? Will Toronto's finest take them? Calum (21 years ago, 15-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtlToronto 16: DARPA Eat Your Heart Out

(...) What I picture is the whole group showing up with about a dozen different robots (because everybody had good ideas, and no "best" idea could be settled upon), and 11 of the 12 completing the qualifier faster than any other team.   rtlToronto 16: DARPA Eat Your Heart Out

Heya folks. De-lurking briefly 'cuz I've got something to say :) I went out to Fontana today, to the California Speedway. DARPA was holding it's Grand Challenge QID (qualifiers) there this week, and I went to watch the last day (I think) of the (...) (21 years ago, 12-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

There are two kinds of AFOL, one that is extroverted and proud of his/her hobby, announcing it to the world, and another which is embarassed and tries to keep it in the closet. Well, I looked in my closet today and realized, I have a LOT of unopened (...) (21 years ago, 12-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Thanks JeffE!

  Re: Thanks JeffE!

(...) Right, but almost ANY video card in the last five years can generate 1600x1200 in whatever refresh rate you want. The practical limitation is the monitor in Iain's and most people's cases. Calum (21 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Can I get rid of the flicker by listening to N-Sync? Iain (21 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Thanks JeffE!

(...) Really it's a combination of the video card and the monitor. The video card has to be able to generate the high sink rates, and the monitor needs to be able to display them. I selected both my monitors and video cards based on wanting (...) (21 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Thanks JeffE!

(...) The sync rates are determined by the electronics inside the monitor. More expensive monitors can do higher sync (and hence higher refresh) rates. Calum (21 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
