Really it's a combination of the video card and the monitor.  The video
card has to be able to generate the high sink rates, and the monitor
needs to be able to display them.

I selected both my monitors and video cards based on wanting 1600x1200
at a reasonable refresh rate.

(...) Right, but almost ANY video card in the last five years can generate 1600x1200 in whatever refresh rate you want. The practical limitation is the monitor in Iain's and most people's cases. Calum (21 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
