  Starting C4 Games

One thing that has not been clearly indicated in the rules is how the connect 4 games will be started. I have what I think is a simple proposal. The game is started by pressing the turn button on the robot that is to go first. If playing with the (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: progress?

(...) I currently have the mechanics of my robot completed, with the exception of the horizontal drive. As usual the original plan for driving horizontal motion (basically no plan) didn't work out, so the new drive will look a little tacked on. It (...) (...) sorry. :( How's your robot working? Hardware done, yet? Some guy still working on game engine for you? Chris said he could scan the board in 35 seconds. Mike said worst case: 15.   Re: I dont want to be a "steve"

(...) Sorry I wasn't clear. In most competitions, I think the 'not lose' is more or less implied. In C$, a robot will lose if it mis-drops a chip (and signals end-of-turn). (...) Actually I do proof read my posts. And be thankful that I do. I find to truly proof read my own writing requires a week or more separation between writing and rereading. Since this is largely impractical, you get what you get. :-) Derek (21 years ago, 15-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
