  Making up our collective minds...

OK, like Michel suggested, it's probably a good idea to slow down the tossing around of new ideas, and make some decisions. Before we start deciding on specific layout considerations, we should get some ground level stuff out of the way. When's our (...) (24 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Re: Making up our collective minds...

(...) Absolutely. I RX'd by snail-mail the application form for Supertrain 2001 in Calgary. There's a couple of things I should mention right away, as it will affect the thread greatly I suspect. 1. There are three categories of attendee - Our (...) (24 years ago, 13-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

(...) Looking forward from now, this should be a go for me. (...) I think I have to decline on that one. I'm OK for within the city of Edmonton, but until I retire, that's about it. (24 years ago, 13-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Re: Making up our collective minds...

(...) True. Have you gotten any indication from them what size they would give us? The largest we can take up (without using the roundtable) is 120" x 180" or 150" x 150". If we have the roundtable, we can increase that to 150" x 180". Obviously we (...) (24 years ago, 13-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

(...) Well it's at "The Big 4 Building in Stampede Park" and they mention that "we may have to place pillars within or adjacent to your display" and that no propane or internal combustion during the show, so I think that there's a lot of room.   Re: Supertrain 2001 (was Re: Making up our collective minds...)

After speaking to the Calgary representative ast GETS 200, I got the definite impression that they absolutely wanted a kids play area. It didn't seem like it would be optional. Maybe I read more into his comments than others did. Michel (...) right (...) (24 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Re: Supertrain a no go? (was: Re: Making up our collective minds...)

Whatever happened to the guys who came to GETS2000 and were AFOLs? Has any of them contacted anyone of us (NALUG) yet? They might be able to assist with Calgarty. I posted a challenge for locals to host a train show on the Calgary Lugnet site quite (...) (24 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug, lugnet.loc.ca.ab, lugnet.loc.ca.ab.cal)

(...) I'm sure a kids play area would be a huge hit, but there's no way I can do that by myself. I'll ask Brad about some "K-8" stuff to stock it with, but there's no point in doing that until we are sure we've got a few us attending. Kevin - the (...)   Joint NALUG-VLC show? (was: Re: Supertrain - I plan to go)

This is a long shot, but hey, I'll try anything... Would anyone in VLC be interested in helping us with a layout at the Supertrain show in Calgary (Feb 17-18)? NALUG has been invited, but not all of us can attend. The real need just one more person (...) (...) In theory I'd be interested but in practice there's no way I'd be able to get over to Calgary. Nice idea though!
