I must admit I'm still confused.  I don't understand where the kids
will hold their user group meetings.

We wouldn't have meetings, to make this easy for Kids, but aside from
KIDLUG, we may host a general LUG convention, but that really is in the
works. Sorry about the confusion, perhaps when KIDLUG is finished it will
be easier to interpret. The reason why we don't have such a complicated
system, is so that we can bring young Lego Maniacs into the newsgroups,
and they participate.

All right, I'm still confused.  Just read the "information package" of
files that you put up today at...

...and it answers a lot of questions (things like age groups, general
purpose, etc.), but I'm still having trouble understanding what it's about.

If you don't have user group meetings, then how is it a user group?

If you already have KIDLUG web-message-boards (via coolboard.com), why would
you want a KIDLUG newsgroup on LUGNET?

It sounds more to me like your goal is to start an online community with the
target market being kid-aged fans of LEGO rather than a LEGO user group for
kids.

Well, as you know, the internet, is an evergrowing tool for communication, and
for the way we plan to run things, it can cover a much larger purpose over the
web. We also plan om haveing information for kids, and not just the
disscussion groups. As I may have finished earlier, I think the a Kidlug
message board will tie it in opeing up a much larger experience for users.
Many more kids would become active in Lugnet through sites like us. There is
nothing wrong with having adults in Lug communities, but still, I thought that
Legos were originally a kids toy. I think it's great that adults have taken
part in this, but kids really add to the purpose. Also, I feel that we should
make Kidlug as much of a normal LUG as possible, and many people I think would
like to see lugnet.org.us.kidlug. I really hope that that clears more up, it
is just that we don't have as narrow a vision as we maybe should.

Aaron

(...) OK, I just set this up. (...) All right -- well, good luck! -- sounds like a great thing if you can make it happen. Hopefully the new group will help some! --Todd (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.org)
