    Matrix Reloaded explained... —David Koudys
Taken from another NG I read-- ((URL) a long read, but if you liked the Matrix series--is a good one) Warning--may contain spoilers and plot elements that may ruin the series (though I didn't think so) The Matrix Reloaded Explained This may seem (...)         Re: Matrix Reloaded explained... —Richard Marchetti
Gee, where have I heard all of this before...? A well-known philosopher once gave a public lecture on The Matrix. He described how The Matrix had existed many times before, how Zion was inextricably linked to the goals of the creators of The Matrix, (...)      (...) **snip** (...) Very nice! My problem with the whole Matrix thang isn't Keanu (though he's awful in absolutely everything he does), and I don't even really mind that the writers cobbled their little is-it-real pastiche out of a hundred other (...)          Re: Matrix Reloaded explained... —David Koudys
(...) Oh, I've met Trekkies. The movie 'Trekkies' is pretty much dead on. The imfamous SNL skit with Shatner--pretty much to a tee. "Get a life! Have you ever kissed a girl? Thought not..." Beyond that, I liked Matix and MR, and will see (...) (21 years ago, 30-Oct-03, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, FTX)

Re: Matrix Reloaded explained... —Dave Schuler
(...) Is it official in any way, or is it an imaginitive fan connecting the dots? I confess, when it got into the wacky numerology bit ("Hey, one has three letters and three is divisible by One") I got a little queasy and had to look away. (...)       (...) Hey! Dems fighting words! Shatner's Canadian! Well, that's the entirety of my arguement, really... So I got nothing. Dave K (21 years ago, 31-Oct-03, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, FTX)

Re: Matrix Reloaded explained... —Mike Petrucelli
(...) Uh... Yeah Trekkies do get into Star Trek that much. I have been told all sorts of scientific "facts" by Trekkies. Such as; heat is not a form of kinetic energy, mass has nothing to do with momentum, NASA wishes they could harness the power of (...) (21 years ago, 31-Oct-03, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, FTX)

Huh? less usable enrgy than we can harness be cause of our technology or actually less enrgy to use (some may get instantly changed to unusable types of energy, etc.) is there an internet article about that? I always thought it (...) (21 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, FTX)

Re: Matrix Reloaded explained... —James Brown
(...) My problem with the Matrix is that they put (obviously) a lot of work into little easter eggs like that essay expounds on, and have done an generally quite credible job of hanging their mythology carefully - and then they hung the whole thing (...)          Re: Matrix Reloaded explained... —Mike Petrucelli
(...) Well actually you get the same amount of energy out that you put in, just in a differnt form. In this case the heat (which is considered wasted energy that "disappears" into the void, for most things) is actually the desired form of energy. So (...)          Re: Matrix Reloaded explained... —Tony Hafner
(...) Spot on. And then there's the reason the war started- the humans essentially blotted out the sun to cut off the machines from their solar power. Were they fundamentally unaware that they were cutting off the *only* source of food for humans? (...) (21 years ago, 5-Nov-03, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, FTX)
