  Re: Nemesis

(...) The Remans ARE mutated Romulans, more or less. They're the brother race to the Romulans. You know, Romulus and Remus, that whole bit...? Maybe I don't get what you're saying. -Stefan- (22 years ago, 15-Dec-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.space)

  Re: Nemesis

(...) Well... other then the fact the Enterprise-E has 24 decks, not 29/30... it was good. :) It could have lost the whole Shinzon/Picard connection, kept the Remans (Do these look like mutated Romulans to anyone else?) and Romulans, and the (...)   Re: Nemesis

(...) Geeky?!?! Die by my Bat'leth! :^) (...) Agreed. That was an awesome sequence. I especially loved how the ships were firing those volleys out. And they FINALLY acknoweledge the fact that those ships only have so many torpedoes! (...) The (...) (22 years ago, 14-Dec-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.space)

  Nemesis

I'd like to disregard this movie's many faults and talk about some of it's cooler aspects in regards to .space (.geek included cuz, well, trek=geek) If there is one thing that stuck with me after I left the theater, it was how graceful the Romulan (...)   Re: Geek trivia help?

(...) I think we should be ashamed. My only ray of hope is that someday there will be a gameshow where this information could be useful or profitable. In the Wizard issue this month there's a 80's toy trivia article. I scored way above the editors (...) (22 years ago, 14-Dec-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Inverse sine function in Excel?

(...) Doh! I saw that function, but I thought if was Excel's abbreviated way of calling me ASINine. Thanks--I'll give it a try. Dave! (22 years ago, 13-Dec-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Inverse sine function in Excel?

  Inverse sine function in Excel?

As I've previously (and repeatedly) confessed, my knowledge of math is sketchy and, shall we say, somewhat organic. I have almost no recollection of many of the processes I briefly used fifteen years ago and not at all since. Well, until now. Using (...) (22 years ago, 13-Dec-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Geek trivia help?

(...) You took the words right out of my mouth. Good memory. Except, it wasn't Scorpina it was Pythona. Golobulus was the one who was half snake, during most of the movie he rides in a big ball shaped pod, but at the end when he is fighting Falcon, (...)   Re: Geek trivia help?

Embarassingly, I believe I know the answer to both of these. Yep... under the command of Hordac, The Horde was the collective name for the group of bad guys that harrassed She-Ra (He-Man's sister) in the land of Etheria. Originally the mentor of (...)   Re: Geek trivia help?

Skeletor and the "Evil Horde"... As far as GI Joe, Cobra was the bad guy, but I don't remember a guy that was 1/2 snake (or at least, i don't remember his name)... Couldn't cobra turn into a snake?   Geek trivia help?

Like any good geek, I ordinarily have a pretty good memory for worthless pop-culture trivia, but I'm drawing a blank. Therefore I call upon my geek cronies to help me with this vital issue: During the 80's, I believe, some cartoon or comic book or (...) (22 years ago, 9-Dec-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Curatorship

(...) Hmmm, for .geek you need the Slashdot. (URL) And perhaps that Babelfish site from altavista, easy url to remember though. www.techtv.com and www.cnet.com are good places to geek-out. www.fileplanet.com for all your geek game needs. I also have (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: New FireFly tonight

(...) Yeah... Toto, we aren't in Kansas anymore... This isn't another 'feel-good' ST clone--and it was darker than most B5 eps. there was violence, lesbianism, torture and other stuff all around... Great ep.! Dave K. (22 years ago, 7-Dec-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Keep those 4.5volt trains alive!

(...) Good point Chris, I already have the NiCads so I am being kind to the environment by continuing to use them. :-)! I think NiMh are a nominal 1.2volts like the NiCads.   Re: Linux Journal Cover

(...) I'll ask Don Marti (the new Editor in Chief) about that tonight when I see him. He's also the president of my local LUG (that's LINUX user's group) which happens to be meeting tonight (www.svlug.org) I wonder whose LEGO minifigs those are on (...)
