Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —John D. Forinash
(...) Hm, that would work, too. (I was figuring just a vi script to mark the X because I use vi to compose messages within mutt...) Something that just goes down and over the right distance and puts an X in is trivial, but I was thinking of what (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —John D. Forinash
(...) (speaking of which, the way to do simply that is to toss) map ` 1G8j9lrXZZ in your .exrc Then when you hit the ` key in beep mode, it'll go toss the X in the right place and save, from where you tell your MUA to send it. It does not, as (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —Dan Boger
(...) heh, that would work, assuming nothing changes :) you still need to hit 'y' in mutt though to send it out... I'll attach my perlscript... first, you set up mutt so: macro pager A <pipe-message>/home/...e-message> so that hitting 'A' in the (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —John D. Forinash
(...) Indeed. Hm. (...) Ah, I completely forgot you could do this. (...) Oh, certainly. I'm just trying to cut down on the annoyance of the autoemailerator. I suspect it's notably less annoying for folks who just point the mouse and type X, and I (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —Dan Boger
(...) oh, please, don't! what MUA will allow you to do limits, *-hooks, PGP, filters, colors, and anything else you can think of? :) I switched to mutt two years ago (from mew), and never looked back :) (...) not to mention have to take their hands (...)          Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —John D. Forinash
(...) Well, to give you an idea of just how deep my unfrozen caveman tendencies run, I finally switched to mutt about that time ago, too. From /usr/ucb/mail. [0] Hey, you'd be amazed what stunts you can pull with it! But not pgp (easily), which is (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) I think Gnus is the obvious answer! (...) True! It is great to have a news/mail agent that works just as well in text mode (via Telnet, SSH, etc) as in windows (both X Windows and the MS version). Fredrik (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —Dan Boger
(...) heh, should have known it'd come up. Yah, it's nice to have a full lisp interpeter in your MUA :) Some might say it doesn't belong there, but let's not get into that *grin* (...) Defenitly a good thing :) Dan (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —Jennifer L. Boger
(...) Wow, you sound just like Dan! I didn't realize there was anyone else in the world that thought hitting a key *and* moving the mouse was a pain :) :) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —John D. Forinash
(...) It's not the key that bothers me. It's that <insert expletive here> mouse! -JDF (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Silly lugnet autoemailerator question... —Steve Bliss
(...) It's only a pain when the designers (a) didn't put the key on the right half of the keyboard and (b) won't let me reassign my keystrokes. Otherwise, I keep my left hand on my mouse, and my right hand does all the keyboard work. Hmmmmm, that (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
