(...) Well, just think, for just a little more than that $1100 you could have gotten yourself an iMac, in your choice of flavors. Oh, that's right, you already have a toy - you wanted a computer. :) (25 years ago, 13-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Thank You! (wasRe: GEEKS HELP!)

Thanks, Geeks, for your help. I decided to buy the computer, even though it's a <ptooey> PC;-) The final deciding factors were: Can now get Mindstorms, and will now be able to get into ldraw{:^D And now I will be able to jump on the "Thanks, (...) Any massless particle that passes through matter without interacting with it is "incompressible", at least in the way most people are talking about when (...)   Re: GEEKS HELP!

I just did a reinstall of almost the full thing yesterday (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Frontpage) with all the templates, (...) (25 years ago, 12-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) I'd say it's an ok deal, especially if you don't build your own or can't find a better deal. No, I would not buy it, at any price. Well, maybe for $100, but I don't buy stock machines, not for myself. (25 years ago, 12-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) On the plus side, hard drive space is one of the easier things to enhance. Get a second drive, set the M/S jumpers (on both drives, right?), and stick it into the system. Steve (25 years ago, 12-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: GEEKS HELP!

(...) The hard drive is a little undersized. With Office2000 approaching 1.0 GB, I don't know if it would last that long. (Depends on what you would do with it.) Personally, I would buy a non-intel chip (and save a lot there) to splurge on a much, (...) (25 years ago, 12-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Guide to Star Wars vehicles?

Does there exist any guides to the Star Wars vehicles on the net? Not the LEGO ones, that is, but the ones from the movies. I'm thinking of something with lots of drawings and diagrams. I've already seen (URL) I find the images to be a tad (...) (25 years ago, 12-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) Just looked at www.gateway.com and a slightly better system, new, is $1449.
